horizon hosted phone system
Discussion
Yes it's reliable, not had any issues. Set up was a bit of a faff and there is certainly areas we're not using it to its full potential.
There are two ways to route it to mobile. Remote office which calls the landline then diverts it out to a mobile or you can download an app with gives you the same functionality as the office phones. Id do the latter if you were using it remotely lots.
It's not without fault, but it's not bad.

Fundamentally Horizon is a good platform and is probably the default hosted choice for SMB in the UK. Others do hosted voice using their own platforms but you never know what’s sitting behind them. A good resilient infrastructure for reselling hosted voice is expensive to build, but it is possible to knock up something cheaper that works most of the time so that’s what a lot of smaller players do.
Are you taking a broadband connection from Gamma, or using your existing connectivity? Whilst it may cost more there are benefits from going end to end Gamma because in the event of any issues you’ve only got one throat to throttle and it eliminates any finger-pointing at the other ISP where contention and QoS are a more unknown quantity.
Are you planning to run separate cabling for the phones, or pass through connections to your computers via the phones? If so you will need network switches capable of VLAN tagging.

I recently stepped back from this game for a bit, but I had over 700 extensions of horizon across lots of different types of business.
its not the cheapest but you get what you pay for, the underlying company is Gamma and they are a great company with no debt.
I looked at many other hosted products and Horizon is deffo the most polished.
FYI I used to sell it as £10 per extension pay for calls , or £20 with 01,02,03 and 07 inclusive. Free phones on a 3 year deal if you took broadband (just for comparison)
Any other questions let me know
