Its recommended not to fire a new kamado too hot for the first few firings to allow the gasket seals to season,. not going above 200 c is a good idea.

Ah ha! Silly me - Thanks Phil. We knew it couldn't be right sitting on the coals but had cast that prongy thing aside. Our grill had therefore been at the wrong height too. So just the lid to sort now then.

Kicking myself that i looked so long at this thinking about whether i should or shouldn't. Then they sold out!

Got a flyer from Costco last week with -

My son in law has the larger size one and he loves it, I have used it and found the low temperature control not as responsive as my Big green egg. but it works fine. I think its due to the design of the daisy wheel which has indents rather than be infinitely variable as the BGE and the aldi one.

I got sent a new hinge after telling them that it wouldn't stay open and once I replaced that it now opens fine. The manufacturer of it is La Hacienda btw.

This Kamado appears to be worth a punt. after 12 yrs my JL BBQ has just collapsed. Is there any way of knowing if/when Aldi will release the next batch?

Just wondering where you are able to see it becoming available on the 2nd May? I’ve had a look on their site and can’t find it.

Super, thank for that. I had been looking at a classic Joe but given the price difference, it’s a bit of a no brainer.

Cheapest you can find, they're all pretty much the same.

"The Works" had some cheap, £5, the other day.

Been wanting to try smoking.

I got a couple last year, they're decent enough, still using the first one.

Has anyone's arrived?
Mine or should i say my sons has and its larger ( its not just measured them but looks that way) than last years and black, not complaining though.
I'm thinking of running it in for him along side my BGE
not fully unpacked yet but will report if its different from last years
