I’ve got the sofa set. It’s certainly good enough. Cushions are a little thin and the back is too low but for the money it’s excellent value. Mine’s kept outside all year round, under a cover in winter. Had it maybe 4 years and it’s as good as new.
I haven’t taken it out the box yet - still landscaping our garden and don’t really have a place for it to go.

Was out on the boat fishing yesterday when I got notification of delivery - left at the back of my house. Checked the CCTV and I’ll have to eat my words about XDP. The 2 guys handled it perfectly. Got home about 11pm and the neighbours were having a garden party so nipped in for a few beers before checking it out - packaging was perfect, opened it up hoping not to see a million pieces and was pleasantly surprised and actually a bit shocked at how big it is!

Man handled it into the kitchen somehow, I assume the few beers on an empty stomach gave me super strength. Inspected it and there’s only one minor blemish on the glazing that I can see, will double check tomorrow but super chuffed! Hoping to cure/test burn it later on and chuck a few fresh mackerel on for lunch...

Keep missing these! One thing I don’t understand is why it’s says available for pre-order, but you can’t seem to do anything?

Do you want one? I have one in my basket for a friend about to expire. I could try coordinating it’s release. If that works. smile

Set up and first cook done, a nice leg of lamb with some home made roasted garlic aioli. Pleased with the results, although it's probably not using it to it's full potential as it's nothing my Weber couldn't handle.

I presume people put a tray of some sort to catch the fat from dripping on the heat deflector?

Last time a few of us got them the next day ~11 am as unpaid for orders were released. Might be worth trying occasionally from 09:00-12:00 tomorrow (Monday)

Brilliant - cheers!

They go quick, huh? Surprised more places aren't doing them!

Still waiting for mine to be dispatched.

BTW - curing - can't remember if some one posted how earlier - is this just a case of running the oven for a period and letting cool for proper use or is there an actual method (and please don't shoot me down with a just google it wink )
24 hour cool burn at about 200
I think it's a bit of an urban myth that you need to cure as such, but doing a couple hour burn first off just to learn how to control temperatures is a good idea.
wtf is this cure nonsense? I have had a kamado for 3 years theres no need at all, and no one with a kamado joe does it

It's just a second hand old catering table, there's a local spot that specialises in selling old catering equipment so I bought one for the Uuni and stuck this on it too.

Rang Aldi again this morning to see when my bbq is coming that I ordered on the 16th May and was dispatched on the 18th May, I was told that it is now confirmed ‘lost in transit’ so they have a spare which will be dispatched to me ASAP.

I then get an email 2 hours later saying they are ‘pleased’ to confirm they have processed my refund.

Shower of st.

Ouch sorry to hear that.
This one is in Brentwood for £325.

Looked at your profile and appreciate that’s too far to travel, but join Kamado Facebook group as they do come up for non inflated prices.

I’m going to sound silly. I know the long handle thing is a rake for moving the ash, but what’s the silver clamp for?

Is that for clamping the cover?

BBQ Brisket put in this morning, can’t be trashed with all these 10+ hours cooks so I’m attempting to get it ready for the F1-around 1-2pm.

I normally pot roast these cuts for about 4 hours although usually at much higher temps, she’s chugging along now at a confirmed 112 degrees.

Thoughts?
