Something totally new; ‘authentic cumin lamb’ and sticky rice, that I put some liquids through. All a little butchered, but some fantastic flavours and my nose is running from the heat hehe lamb has such a lovely flavour too, will defo be getting it more now.

I wish lamb was more accessible here… that looks good!

Simple for me tonight… linguine, with sausage and tomato. Basic tomato, garlic and chilli sauce. Large helping of parmigiana added after photo

I'm not a fan of pasta at all but that does look really good. Only issue is take is that isn't simple. THIS is simple.

And yes. Those are indeed Alphabites. A drunk trip to Tesco and the idea of making Salt Pepper and Chilli Alphabites turned into a midweek freezer raid, unsurprisingly enough.

Isn’t there a new special thread for this kind of thing? hehe

Chris learnt presentation from the same school as me, all taste the same though don’t it!

Very simple…

2 sausages, skins removed, broken in to rough pieces.
1/4 red onion, finely chopped
1 garlic clove, finely sliced
Handful of cherry tomatoes, halved
Table spoon of tomato purée mixed with 4-5 tables spoons of water
Pinch of chilli flakes
Handful of parsley, finely chopped
Table spoon ex virgin oil
Linguine

Heat oil in deep frying pan
Add onion and garlic and fry for a couple of minutes
Add sausage and chilli flakes and fry until browned/cooked
Add tomatoes & purée
Season (not too much salt as pasta water will be salty)
Lower heat to simmer
Cook linguine
When it’s almost cooked remove from water and add to sausage mixture along with parsley
Add a bit of pasta water and combine
If too dry, add a bit more pasta water
Check seasoning and add salt if needed.
Plate and add parmigiana

Most Italian food is super simple… minimal, but quality ingredients, cooked relatively simply.

Correct, was it the seats or logo's on the plates that gave it away? Fantastic food and a great value lunch menu.

I’ve never seen anyone get chips in an Indian restaurant before.

I don't know of many Indian restaurants in Scotland that don't serve chips. Probably some higher-end places such as Swadish or Mother India cafe.

Lasagne tonight, how do people stop the cheese sauce from basically evaporating? Tried making it thick before, thin before, tried putting it between two layers of sheets this time, never get a lovely layer of creamy sauce after the bake
controversial opinion but i don't think cheese sauce differentiates a lasagne. My lasagnes are always a massive deal and a very rich affair but the cheese sauce is just out of a jar. As a sideline I hate hate HATE nutmeg. It's a good way of ruining both sweet and savoury dishes and the people that smash loads of it into homemade cheese sauce and feel smug about themselves should be in jail.
