Hey Bodhi - kegs from BeerWulf has got me looking at their beer/lager dispensers, is that what you use? I've now come up from the rabbit hole (Youtube) and I'm really wanting a Blade due to the size of their kegs. I'm a bit of an alchy and think nothing of drinking 6 cans of lager a day paperbag

What do you think of them? Is there a forum/thread on here anywhere?

beer
I haven't seen a thread on them so I'll be (fairly) brief on this one so as not to derail it too much - but we've got the Sub, or the smaller one of the two. You can chill the kegs before putting them in the machine so no worries about getting them down to temperature - only thing to bear in mind is they take an hour or so to settle after you've loaded them in the machine, so if you're catering or want more than the 4 pints in a Sub the first pint is mostly froth if you get too impatient smile

Refills are about £10 a go for the Sub, presumably more for the Blade, so cheaper (and tastes the same) as the pub, but a bit more than just drinking cans.

Brilliant bits of kit when you are used to them though.
Perfect draft is worth a look Dicky. 6L kegs. I’ve had one for a couple of years. Works out at less than £2 a pint
Heard a lot of good things about that as well. From what I can tell the machines are all pretty good (being Philips/Krupps), it's just a case of picking which brewery you prefer. BeerWulf is all Heineken and their brands, Perfect Draft has a bit more choice.

I drink far too much Amstel so went with that, but don't think you can go too far wrong with any of them.

I think he was attempting to guess the restaurant you're in, not giving you a special name.

That has to be at least 2 AA rosette level, so I would like to know where.

Cheers guys it's now a toss up between the Blade and the PD. The Krupp is an outright no as I despise anything to do with that company/family - you'll understand why if you follow the "New Teaspoon Advice Please" thread and their main advocate Blib rofl

Joking aside the Krupp is way too small at 2L. The PD certainly has more choice in keg brands and cheaper than the Blade. I tend to stick with one type of lager (rarely drink ales) and 8L would last me about a 3/4 days with a few cans in the fridge just in case paperbag

The Blade is just edging it primarily on looks, build quality and size. Just need to find the right moment to run it past the 'Chancellor' for her to sign off hehe

Had a physically demanding weekend with lots of prepping walls for painting scraping 40 year old gloss paint off browning, then the obligatory game of golf when done. Needed a proper feed so went out for a curry.

Poppadoms and Lamb Shaschlick to start off with which I forgot to get a picture of, then King Prawn Balti (Slightly Hot) with rice and cheese and garlic naan.

They were, honestly more effort goes into my Roasties than the meat usually..

Basically follow Heston's method, although those weren't parboiled within an inch of their lives, was too hungry to delay it any longer.

Ah.

I thought you were suggesting that a cat had got stuck into the mains as the Mrs forgot to take a photo until we had started on it.
