Went to Bluespoon (Amsterdam) recently. SisterD's boss ws paying, but tbh it was pretty good value for 7 courses, and while it didn't exactly wow, you wouldn't feel ripped off.

You guys are sometimes too harsh.

I'd like a 7 course meal served like that just so you don't feel bloated. And someone else paying, yes please. beer

I sent this vid to my wife and said I would cook it..,

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Brbb5T4gur8

It's a really simple dish, not sure why someone needs to put it on youtube and then do a book about how to do shopping, but hey ho, thought I would give it a try.

This is how his ended up, not even plated nicely, but that's a pretty funky plate, mmmm, tasty ... it's almost rustic!

Holy Moly ..... shoot

No amounts of ingredients, just stick it in the pan and stir baby stir .....

And he's doing a book on how to shop for a week ..

"The 7-Day Basket: The no-waste cookbook that everyone is talking about "

snigger. Yeah right.

I hope he gives some quantiies in his book or else it might be 6 days or 8 days or who knows how many days it might go for..... getting back to the vid and me cooking it...

Basically this is pasta with mushrooms and using balsamic glaze.

So my version.....

spot my artistic stripes of balsamic ...

Then something creamy, I love putting a big dollop of something creamy in something dishy. It's getting more and more rare nowadays as I head into the 2020's,. egg whisk in hand.

No, not the dish, my sex life. Sorry for the confusion ....

Of course at this point I don't have any lemon but that is a dumb idea anyhow when you are aiming for a rich balsamic sauce, but I did have most of the ingredients ....

And the finished result

Mushrooms on pasta with balsamic glaze, greek yoghurt, basil, coriander, Parmesan cheese.

Not tasted it but my wife said that it tasted like

" Meat in a brandy cream sauce, it was lovely"

Er .......

So there you go, if you ever was asked to serve steak in brandy sauce and wanted to save some pennies and go vegitarian ....

And on that bombshell I will depart ........ getmecoat

So much for 1 hour of cooking. Always spread a tear guys for that short order cook who takes home a pittance of wage and gets no respect for his toils....

I've got a book coming out soon about it ... available in all good book shops .....

It was amazing. Including blood sausage, a Spanish take on black pudding but much softer and flavoured with fennel.

I'm struggling to identify? Spanish mixed grill? Chicken, pork and morcilla? But morcilla with fennel? must be something else?

Basically yes. It was an amazing little restaurant on La Palma, a hour walk up a hill specialising in pork and goat. They didn’t speak much English at all so well out of the tourist trap areas

We just got them to bring a load of stuff for 6 people, pork, chorizo, chicken, beef ribs and a few other bits and bobs.

All came to 98euros including 2L of wine.

^^^ Def. a repeat visit then.

If you are every in Cambrills theres a place called Restaurant las Palmeras. basically a German guys standing over a big BBQ with piles of meat all washed with the same oil and herb mix and a choice of chips or BBQ jacket potatoes.

All sitting outside in a garden courtyard affair.

Very basic and simple but great atmosphere, loads of booze and meat.

As another bottom feeder getting that for 50p is top work! beer

That pie even looks like it had beef in it !

People can laugh, but when you have to work to a really low budget it gets harder and harder to make a meal to a limit

Note that if you want to go chicken pies then this is still the best deal out there.

You get 4 of them as well.
