Lovely, buggered if I can find any chanterelles this year due to the drought!

I'm very lucky with my suppliers, however I didn't have an abundance, padded them out with some cultivated mushrooms too.

Nice work on that meal, looks great.

Watching F1 FP1 at the moment so cooked a light snack

Me and the dog are having a domestic dispute over it at the moment.

It's a toss up who eats the parsons nose at this point. I outwit him on the mental side but his teeth are sharper than mine...

That top one will serve my sad internet life sexual habits for the next month as well because I cannot get a girlfriend after buying a Yaris in 2009.

Cottage pie tonight.

This was brisket done in the slow-cooker (red wine, carrots, etc) then pulled and crisped up in the oven. Juices reduced for the gravy and all mixed back through. Topped with cheesy mash. Autumn stodge!

Cottage pie looks excellent! I like using whole cuts of meat for chilli but hadn't thought of that.

Didn't quite turn out properly so no points for presentation but it tasted mighty fine - tarte tatin from the current glut of apples and some puff pastry which has been kicking around the freezer for too long:

Of course gravy! Just doesn’t shoot as well.

No to horseradish, vile! Other half had it, if it helps.

My other half asked me earlier "gravy?" my reply of "two slices please" was not appreciated punch

Thanks, like all slow cooked meals, the leftovers tasted even better the next day for lunch. I will certainly be making it again.

Whilst Discussing cottage pie, I watch a vid of cottage pie balls. Appealing, right?!

Anyway, usual process, but put some clongfilm in a bowl, lay an 1-2cm layer of mash, fill up with mixture and wrap the cling film around to make a sort of sphere, then tie the cling film up by twisting it all together and chuck in a pan with cheese. Sounds brilliant! I’ll post pics once I’ve done it.
