I just have the whole toad in the whole and then drench it in gravy - no sides. There's no incorrect way to enjoy it though.

Busy day in the garden cutting things back and generally getting ready for winter. This was most welcome smile

Home reared fillet and rib of beef, baked sweet potato and portobello mushroom stuffed with garlic and mature double gloucester. There was also a home made demi-glace / red wine sauce which unfortunately did not make it to the photos.

Speaking of yellow dishes, tonight I did salmon & vegetable (cauli, broccoli, peas and pepper) biryani with sultanas and sprinkled with roasted flaked almonds which was quite heavy in turmeric so it all turned out yellow (I thought I had some red pepper to break it up a bit but was mistaken so the pepper was yellow as well), with cucumber and mint raita.

It was ok but I could have done with a bit more flavour/spice, I'll zhuzh it up a bit next time!

Style over substance.

The big sawing thing?

Having said that the actual steak looks great and well cooked.

How can you post a photo on the thread with a saw and then say you forgot to post the semi glace / red wine sauce and then not put it on the photo ???????

that sounded yummy

The bone saw was to cut one rib from one of the 5 rib sections in my dry ager.

We rear our own beef, lamb, and pork. Today I was repairing electric fences that keep the Tamworth pigs where they are supposed to be.

The steaks came from these two.

The yellow fat is a sign of a grass diet. Somehow it is out of fashion but for me a mark of genuine quality beef.
