Here's one from last night, using up some of the utterly delicious beef from our Christmas dinner

(No photos of Xmas dinner prepared, but the box will give an indication lick )

Anyway.... The leftover beef was reheated to make it so gloriously warm and juicy again, paired with some crispy chips and black pepper, and the last of the Veuve Cliquot.
I decided to be lazy and watch it in front of one of my Xmas presents, pure bliss smile

Tonight's dinner. Ravioli filled with butternut squash, sage, ricotta, pancetta and parmesan. Made a red wine and tomato sauce to go with it and some garlic bread sticks. Was lovely.

Wife decided we had enough leftovers to do an entire Christmas dinner again ... except she didn’t have any potatoes to roast, so we had chips. It was brilliant.

Chinese style beef strips, flash fried then cooked quickly in a sauce of corn flour, soy sauce, honey, fish sauce & white wine vinegar (I didn't have rice vinegar), ginger, garlic and mangetout then topped with toasted cashew halves.
Quick and very flavouresome.

A cracking wine too. I buy a case of Geyserville every year.

Last night, Duck Confit Charlotte, duck leg confit in a veal and wild mushroom sauce in sliced bread smothered in duck fat. Baked in oven bread is very crispy.

Followed by a simple Beef Wellington and spinach

Washed down with another one of these, only one more left.

Apologies for upside down piccies.

Cauliflower gratin a la Jacques Pepin

Served with pan fried seabass and salad both of which I forgot to photograph.

Pepin is an absolute cooking maestro. Love that man.

It’s a polite way of saying “fk off”.
