Last time I posted something like this I got lots of hate mail, death threats, and PM's calling me mental.

I wonder how it will go down this time seeing as Easter is a time of peace and goodwill. biggrin

Sort of has a 'foreign student discovering food in a new country' vibe about it.

4/10.

Starter, Main, Desert all on one plate .... bit odd - but would not turn my nose up at it. But then again - I like Pineapple on Pizza - so am classed as a deviant in the Dirty Takeaway Thread.
That pineapple fetish classes you as deviant in every setting, including psychiatric textbooks.
Seconded..... I have only ever seen one case worse and that is when I was last in South Africa and there was a place doing a roaring trade in banana, avocado, pineapple and butternut pizza hurl
CDG, Craigjm - come the revolution - your names are @ the top of the list to be sent to the re-education camps ... wink

It looks like the plate of a first time visitor to the "all you can eat" buffet.

Yeah, but we've also seen some of your prison slop lunches, so this isn't *quite* so bad!

Pizza crème fraîche, lardons, garlic and lots of sautéed onion.

Tandoori lamb chops, calimari, prawns baked on sea salt, ribs.

Mussels, garlic and cream in the paella pan.

Yes CdG, baking tray covered in lots of sea salt around 7 or 8 garlic cloves finely chopped, put the raw prawns on the tray sprinkled with a bit of olive oil. Cook on the BBQ or in the oven. The salt helps to create a more intense flavour. I covered it with a piece of foil to begin with.

Brill, thank you. I'll try it tomorrow. Rest assured, if it goes well I'll be taking all the credit!

I drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and then apply copius black pepper and sea salt. 210c fan oven for about 20 mins.

Tried it and, as promised, it's a triumph. Really tasty and soy gives a nice lift.

Served with Parma ham-wrapped chicken stuffed with a garlic and herb fromage frais. Was not dry. Was yum.

My dining companion was impressed, which can only be a promising thing.

Looks like you did the 'cook like meatloaf' method and sliced after. which recipe did you follow? how do you rate it? I've always wanted to make my own, especially when its now £8 for doner & chips!

main two methods are either

- cook as a meatloaf then slice.
- make the meatloaf, freeze, partially thaw and slice into pieces then fry up.

Yep, used "the takeaway secret" method. very easy, just meat and some spices. Throw it in the oven for 40 mins and slice. Other method sounds good, but I like it a bit squashy.

Generally it's bang on, but this time it was made and cooked straight away, normally I leave it in the fridge overnight, so lacked flavour.

I tried Morvan's prawns in salt for last night's barbecue. They give something of a wow factor although, in truth, I overdid them slightly. No-one complained though.
