You can get any meat in South India, they're not bothered. Nowhere near as many vegetarians as I'd expected either, though meat is seen as a bit of a treat to many. They love a BBQ, which is something I'd like to see over here.
Booze on the other hand can be a bit tricky, but with enough nods and winks can usually be sought.

Cheers!

The organic Madagascan prawns were certainly worth the extra expense; deep red with amazing flavour compared to the insipid farmed things from Thailand/Vietnam.

Yes indeed. I got on a flight once with a regional airline to be told it was an alcohol free vegetarian flight redface

I can never quite get my head around dressing things you don't eat, such as shells. Seems work for no benefit, but one imagines there's a purpose so I must be missing something.

Not too many other ways you could top or stuff mussels with anything other than in some sort of "container", the shell is disposable, free and just the right size for it. Little bit like snails cooked in the shell (or not as is the case normally, but thats another story)

Sticks.

His have.

Both look just the sort of thing I like and ought to have more often. And minimal cooking.

hmmm.... I can see a vague squirt of something resembling a balsamic dressing or something.

Homemade dirty-ness. Lamb kebab meat, roasted peppers, halloumi fries, lettuce, raw onion and home
Made Chili sauce, chips on the side.

Looks like you did the 'cook like meatloaf' method and sliced after. which recipe did you follow? how do you rate it? I've always wanted to make my own, especially when its now £8 for doner & chips!

main two methods are either

- cook as a meatloaf then slice.
- make the meatloaf, freeze, partially thaw and slice into pieces then fry up.
Just happened across your post the now and thought I'd drop this in: http://www.mobkitchen.co.uk/recipes/homemade-doner...

It's gone down well when I've made it for friends and family.

Similar, not a fan of fennel though!
