Yes i am aware :-) but thanks for checking. I spent almost no time in the garage during the cooking, and when I was there i was in the doorway.

Actually it's a tumble dryer and a B&D Workmate :-)

But yeah, both for the wife.

Attempted the Mcdonalds double cheeseburger with bacon

Mines a bit wonky, but got the onion flecks in there.

And my Big mac version using crumpets

Tasted a lot better

Why crumpets, seems pretty random?

My never ending quest to make tofu palatable made good progress last night. (my missus is a fan, I'm not keen)

Squeezed out the moisture for a few hours, marinated in all kinds of stuff, into egg then seasoned cornflour then deep fried.

Was tasty and not at all slimy and gelatinous like tofu can be. Would do it again and I'm not sure I've ever said that about tofu before.

My partner likes tofu so I make a tofu dish every once in a while. That was the best one I've made.

Awful picture, but my first attempt at homemade pasta. Spaghettini with truffles.

Not very impressive looking but tasted epic.

My first go at a Carribean dish (although I don't claim for a moment that it was cooked anything close to authentically) jerk chicken with rice & peas, which actually doesn't contain any peas.
I'm slightly baffled by that but it was delicious all the same! biggrin

It’s called rice and peas because it’s supposed to be made with pigeon peas. The Jamaicans particularly call all types of peas and beans “peas” so red kidney beans are often used. Not sure what recipe you used but that looks totally wrong. Rice and peas when made with kidney beans should look like this

It’s pretty much rice cooked in coconut milk with red beans, spring onions, onions, garlic, allspice, thyme, Scotch bonnet, ginger and salt. You can’t use canned beans they are too soft. When you use dried beans it colours the rice as shown
