You think oven chips are bad, then you see the fat that comes out of smilies, wow!
bad? oven chips are 4% fat and don;t really have that many ingredients (none of which are bad)
rolleyes fine. But smilies are nasty!
Smilies are 93% potato, 7% fat, and have less than half the calories per 100g of a Mars bar. I'm not seeing what's so "nasty"...

Generally taste very fatty, not very appealing either, although I can hardly talk given my last 2 photos.

Hey I am spamming the thread.

Which is ok as it is FDR and spam is almost a food.

We need to do a spam cooking competition. We have not had one in a while.
I can just imagine the submissions:

Just attempting my first ever beef pot roast. Seared (could have done with bit more) liquid and veg added, just about to bring to the boil and slow cook for 3 hours.

Looking good Cotty.

Beef pot roast is one of the great pleasures in life. I often do a brisket Stifado pot roast based on this Agni Tavera recipe. Nothing beats it on a cold evening.

Sweet and sour chicken balls with egg fried rice.

Better than from the Chinese takeaway, even if I do say so myself! smile

Crappy dismal weather so got the slow cooker out for lamb stew.

You know those lads websites where they put up pictures of young ladies proudly proclaiming that they were hotter than the sun and when you look at them, whilst waiting for that egg to boil prefectly of course wink, they end up looking like

well my bacon rice dish went from -20C to hotter than the sun in under 30 minutes. Home grown chillies are paper lanterns, thai demon and stumpy.

Luckily I am still not sober from yesterdays masterchef. Still manages to end up on the side of tasty and enjoyable unlike some of those silly insane chillis they have been growing lately.

Ice cream for pudding.....

Excellent. Not enough slow cooking on here.

I would rather like the finished product at 9am with a good glass of red wine for breakfast. People would look at you funny, but that is far more tasty and healthy than driving to Mcdonalds etc at such a time wink

Good work! beer

Looking good BigMon. Tiger loaf and some decent butter and I'd be all over that smile

Just had it with some rice.

It was very tasty. Probably my only criticism was the cuts of lamb were very cheap and on the bone (like a lamb knuckle) so my wife (who is a bit picky) had to pick little bits of bone out of her mouth occasionally.

You can't beat stew from a slow cooker though. Best way I've found of doing it.

It’s not the fat, it’s that they are highly processed. Just saying smile

It's frozen mashed potato coated with a little potato starch so they brown in the oven. It's not exactly a turkey twizzler laugh.

A couple from last week, nothing fancy, just good wholesome grub.

Chicken and aubergine Katsu curry with Thai black rice.

Pancetta, fresh and dried wild mushroom risotto still in the pan, forgot to take a plated pic.

You have to put rice in risotto???

To be fair though, I did have a lot of fresh and dried mushrooms to use up and that was all the Carnaroli rice left in the packet so it was possibly a little rice light, bloody nice though and there was enough leftovers for a couple of lunches.
