Also saw the Ramsey lemon curd pizza the other day, looked interesting.

My vote, despite not being overly original would be a crispy duck pizza, plum sauce for the base, cheese, crispy pulled duck, then sprinkled with diced spring onion, perhaps some crispy seawood too lick

In my opinion, anything with a tomato base cannot be deemed an 'unusual' pizza. Use other well known combinations such as an apple sauce base with pork,
Ooh yes. Good shout. Apple sauce, pulled pork, crumbled black pudding and stilton.

I do like blue cheese and reindeer.

I have eaten the following pizzas and all are great:

Cumberland sausage, streaky bacon, roasted cherry tomatoes, Portobello mushrooms, mozzarella & soft runny egg

Chunks of brie, roasted butternut squash, balsamic red onions, mozzarella, topped with rocket & pumpkin seeds, drizzled with a balsamic glaze

Torn Peri Peri chicken, sweet red onion, mozzarella, roast sweetcorn & green chilli topped with avocado & coriander

My stepson got me onto adding IKEA meatballs! We make our own pizzas generally, and they are a great addition, in my opinion.

I get some interesting east meets west on my travels, one pizza that was exceptional. supposed to be Pesto Chicken but actually appeared to be aniseed chicken.
Also pineapple, coated in mustard powder is weirdly good.

Pastrami, ground beef, peanut butter, bacon and mustard.

Not as f*cked up as it sounds, honest.

When I lived in the UK, a local pizza delievry place did a full english breakfast pizza, beans included. It was surprisingly very good, especially on a Saturday lunchtime when you're hungover and the local greasy spoon had stopped serving breakfast. thumbup

My missus once made a pizza with baba ganoush, lamb meatballs, tomato, pickled red onion and feta. It was ace and I'm not normally a fan of baba ganoush.

Thanks for your replies. With 3 days to go the shortlist is:

1) Baba ganoush, lamb meatballs, tomato, pickled red onion and feta.
2) Apple sauce, pulled pork, crumbled black pudding and Stilton
3) Crispy duck pizza, plum sauce for the base, cheese, crispy pulled duck, then sprinkled with diced spring onion, perhaps some crispy seaweed
4) Nduja, buffalo mozzarella and shaved fennel

What would you vote for?

4. It will be delicious - Just before you cook it, give it a little sprinkle of fennel seed too.

4 is a pretty standard pizza though isn't it? You're not going to blow anyone's mind with it.

The others are a just a random meal on a pizza base, not really a pizza?

If the winner is just who can put the most unusual toppings on a pizza base then you may as well go bonkers, but if you want something that actually works as a nice pizza, then 4 is the one.

Other than my suggestion the pulled pork one sounds good. I once made pork burgers with grilled apple and brie which went down well.

The idea of cheese with crispy duck is unappealing to me for some reason.

The thread is unusual/alternative pizza though, not pizza you could get from any decent pizza place wink.

I'll happily admit my suggestion would work equally well wrapped in a flat bread or pitta but my missus made it for a pizza night once and it was great.
