Just seen the “Artisan” range of these for sale at £274 from Curry’s and £299 from ao.com

Apparently they’re half price.

I know they’re pretty decent but was wondering if these cheaper ones were still decent or were some sort of a diffusion line?

We've been running one on an almost daily basis for the past 14 years. Hasn't skipped a beat.

ETA. Out's isn't labelled as an Artisan, but it was one of the cheaper ones back when we bought it, and looks exactly like what they're calling the Artisan now. Jump on it for that price.

The thing about stand mixers is that both of the main brands, KA and Kenwood, are superb and you can't go wrong with with either.

I got one from Aldi in the summer. It was only £50 but feels a bit plasticky.

If you're going to do a lot of bread then maybe the KitchenAid wont last as long as you think, last time I looked they had a sacrificial gear. I looked at loads and ended up with a kenwood chef which was heavily discounted at Currys and John Lewis matched it for me.

It doesnt look as good as a KA one if you like leaving them on the counter top though.

Our's has averaged around 2 loaves a week for the past decade. I don't think it's an issue smile
