noodles in a pot

The Da Bomb sauce I have must be close to pure capsaicin. I used to put a few drops in a chilli, or some beans, but haven't used it for years as its just plain heat and pain!
I've had it a few times recently as number 8 on the Hot Ones challenges and feel.like I've built up some tolerance but it's a weird experience compared to all the "natural" sauces that make up the rest of the lineup. There no nice taste and as you say it's essentially pain and heat, a challenge / bragging / joke sauce rather than something to savour.

Mmmm I like pepper
Give them a go if you see them, I think you'll enjoy them. I got mine from the local Sing-Kee but they don't have them on the website for some reason - they come in individual or 5 packs though so I presume you'll be able to pick them up online if you don't have anywhere nearby.
I’m 53, always, always eaten hot spicy food and drown my meals in spicy sauces.
But for the last 18 months my indigestion and it’s either IBS or stomach ulcers cause me all kinds of issues after a night on the spice.
I’m frightened to eat the next pack of 3x spicey noodles because I’m worried they’ll give me Gandhi’s revenge again.
I may have to seriously consider retiring soon

Will hunt them out
I'm thinking of giving up on chilli somewhat, it's not a problem going down but once it's in there!
I even had a spicy MCchicken sandwich other day obviously eating it, it's hardly even warm but it wasn't a fun afternoon

I'm with you both. Around the start of Covid my appetite for very hot food has changed dramatically! I no longer relish the challenge! I can still do heat but not 'raw' heat so needs to be sweet as well. In curry terms Dhansak is fine but Vindaloo is off the menu. But for the last 18 months my indigestion and it’s either IBS or stomach ulcers cause me all kinds of issues after a night on the spice.

PS Indigestion is no problem as Omerprozale is one of my 5 a day

from watching a few (ok a lot) of the hot ones episodes, it seems that da bomb is an outlier exactly as you say. The two sauces afterwards are usually tolerated/ enjoyed more. 1-10 is definitely not “just” an ascending scoville orderingThere no nice taste and as you say it's essentially pain and heat, a challenge / bragging / joke sauce rather than something to savour.

I've had The Last Dab XXX on its own with none of the other 9 to build up to it and it's a really nice tasting sauce that has a kick to it rather than being something horrific, it's definitely more about how the hit is delivered than the numbers.
The Buldak noodles just kick you in the head, I've taken to adding a fried egg now to take the edge off a little.
So... last Sunday I was at the Wan Tai/Wing Yip at Staples Corner for lunch and went for a shop after (small one as I was there just 4 weeks prior with the frozen dim sum purchases coming in at over £100 alone). In the pot noodle section saw this cheap one and decided to try it, after all how bad could it be ... except I had also done the same the previous trip.
Got peckish last night so tried it, smell was not great, noodles were sub par, but MSG laden soup was nice.

I've not read the whole thread for the obvious reasons, but how are 'Cup Noodle' Soba rated on here alongside the quite frankly terrifying range that is available via the internet? I 'found' them in Sainsburys a year or so ago and £1.70 for the 'big' one seems the going price. Are the ones double that worth trying?
I do like the Hot ones. And the Yakitori.

I would part disagree with the good Doctor as they are decent, not the best, but better than average. Only catch is they have increased by about 50% in price over the last couple of years.I do like the Hot ones. And the Yakitori.
