noodles in a pot
Discussion
Well thanks to you guys I ended up looking at the Starrymart site to find they have in the full range of the NIssin 60 Year anniversary range, a number of which are repackaging of luxury noodles I've been trying to get again for a few years
Of course this then lead to some more traditional pots, though the EU variant
and then a top up of my yopokki/tteobok/topokki collection
Not seen is a bottle of tteobokki sauce (as I've bought fresh topokki, split in to portions and frozen) and a free pack of a Samyang Buldack curry noodle.

A bit of a "salted egg" theme for me this week, something I've not tried before. I had the non-spiced ones for lunch today, not too bad but I can still taste them 5 hours later.
I'll try the spicy ones tomorrow but these are the sachets from.the regular one...
"Vegetables" to add at the start with the water, then you drain and add the powder and sauce. The powder was a bright yellow oddity and the sauce a terrifyingly lumpy red oil. It worked OK in combination though, I'll certainly finish them off.
The others are my current favourite 'pepper flavour' ones.

Finally tried the 2x Buldak stuff I got a while back. No real flavour just daft levels of heat. Hopefully the lime habanero ones taste better
I can confirm it's an upgrade, not by much but definitely tastier, the cheese one is too. Returning to the salted egg ones from yesterday, a warning - I left the empty bowl in my office by mistake yesterday due to things being a bit hectic, when I came back this morning I had a massive panic and shut all my machines down because I detected an "electrical burning" smell, it turns out it was the noodle residue, it's practically identical to burnt electronics.
Currently a huge fan of these Nongshim Spicy Chicken Bowl Noodle - £1.19 in B&M. Not mega hot, and a nice soup base.
What I do is controversial. I put in the soup powder, get a 35p pack of IndoMie noodles and squeeze them into the bowl and fill to nearly the rim. Close the lid, put chopsticks on to hold it down, and 5 mins later a full meal!

I tried the Hot & Spicy salted egg today, it isn't that hot or spicy, there's a bit more taste to them than the regular ones and they still have the smell of hot circuit boards, as with the others I'd definitely have them again and want to explore more salted egg stuff now. Finally got round to sampling a Shin Cup, as part of a flawlessly healthy and balanced lunch
Rather nice! Spice level is well judged, hot enough without being a chore to eat. Do like the thin broth rather than the gloopy sludge of a traditional Pot Noodle.
Another recent discovery, Japanese Curry Soba noodles, very tasty and also gloop free which is a big plus in my book. These and the Yakitori chicken variety are my go to instant cup snacks. Although probably of no interest to chilli fiends as they're very mild.
