I got takeaway from Bread Meats Bread the other day, which means that I've been there twice in a week. Should probably knock that on the head laugh.

B12 Cheeseburger was good but the real treat was the fries with vegan blue cheese mayo and buffalo sauce. Had a really good blue cheese flavour and a proper kick from the sauce. Food cost £14 and the chips would've been enough for two if you wanted to share.

Iceland have a good range "No Bull" vegan products. Burgers are excellent. Fish fingers are dreadful but that is a vegan substitute that is never going to work. Lots of other things (fried chicken, mince etc) that I've yet to try.

This could be fun. My family think it’ll taste disgusting. Only one way to find out smile

Might give the steaks a go later and report back.

its intriguing - must say i think it will be watery and taste of nothing in the middle but certainly worth a try!

Tried the Vivera Veggie burger t'other day and it was okay. Certainly better than many cheap beef burgers.

Pesc'y wife really enjoyed it. I think she's really enjoying these meat-like burgers whilst I'm still somewhat a fan of a good not-trying-to-be-meat style burger. Perhaps the fact I still eat meat makes the difference?

KFC tests out vegan nuggets and wings

Love the line "Vegans who are ravenous for fake meat in nugget form, rejoice"

I've made vegan 'chicken' nuggets from a bracket fungus found on beech/oak trees, called - funnily enough - Chicken-of-the-Woods.

Find a young specimen, slice into nuggety shapes, marinate in soy sauce, then deep fry in a spiced gram flour batter.

The texture is exactly like chicken, if a little lacking on the flavour front, so it needs to be well seasoned.

The southern fried ones aren’t vegan sadly frown.

The reports from American vegans were good for that vegan KFC.

Found myself in Glastonbury over the weekend - can't say I've been anywhere before that so openly caters just for vegetarians and vegans!

We went to a couple of places, including Rainbows End: https://rainbowsendcafe.com/

Genuinely lovely food there plus buffet sold by weight. Also went to Excalibur which I personally preferred for the general vibe.

https://www.excaliburcafe.net/

Had their Excaliburger which was delightful:

The George & Pilgrims Inn at the bottom of the high street also did a lot of vegetarian options, including a lovely curry and burger.

I now have a massive hankering to create my own vegan / plant-based burgers so watch this space!

I posted this on the Keto thread too but you may be interested in some of the Vegan recipes as they seem fairly simple to achieve:

Given this a car site, I see that Lewis Hamilton is backing a new vegan burger chain:

Had one of the new improved recipe Beyond Burgers last night. Very nice - more authentic burger taste, browner colour. They’re really making an effort to annoy all those ”if-you-don’t-want-to-eat-meat-then-why-does-it-have-to-look-like-meat” folk.

Share price still nuts, though.

M&S Plant Kitchen dirty fries are awesome.

Tried Jamie Oliver's 'greens mac & cheese' last night after watching it on his new series. Good news is that it tasted very good, bad news is that it's a right ballache to cook (especially on a school night, took me over an hour most of which was actually working on it at the hob) and secondly it tasted much better with some chorizo in it!

If it tasted better with chorizo in that just means you didn't season it enough in the first place wink.

I think I'm outing myself as a burger fiend - went to a Surrey pub yesterday and indulged in this beauty:

It is a pulled jackfruit burger dressed in a sticky BBQ-esque marinade, with avocado slaw, in a beetroot bun accompanied by triple cooked chips. Vegan and unbelievably delicious.

It's opened up the idea of using beetroot for colour - I was with a table of carnists and when this dish came it everyones eyes left their skulls!

Bought here: https://www.plougheffingham.co.uk/

No doubt I'll be back here soon with another meatless burger find!

Looks very tasty. I’m sure some of the carnists you mention will give it a try now smile
