The white sauce is delicious cheese sauce on cauliflower, and the thing at the top is a slice Tofurkey roll with stuffing. You need to taste both before deciding whether they are grim or not.
am sure its lovely but cant say im surprised it attracts the usual non vegan comments as it looks from appearances anemic which non vegans love to pick up on

i thought the tofu turkey was a very anemic aubergine!

The presentation was a bit 70s but I wonder if you swapped the tofurkey for some bland turkey breast would it have got the same arsey responses.

Although knowing this place it probably would’ve laugh.

When I started the thread I wanted to keep it mostly constructive and I think we’ve managed that but you’re always going to get the odd idiot who just wants some attention.

V drunk last night so had some junk food and the new kfc vegan burger. Disgusting but fills a gap if there’s only kfc and you’re 8 pints in

I'd heard good things about the vegan KFC burger. I quite like Quorn Southern Fried bites so will try the KFC offering soon enough.
KFC chicken is the cheapest, nastiest shiite. I eat the crispy coating and throw the meat to the cat.

KFC coated halloumi, seitan, or even marinated tofu would be divine. But no, Quorn.

That looks as dry as a dead dingo's dirtbox, and just about as appealing to eat.

I think expecting a KFC burger to look like something you'd want to eat is probably expecting too much laugh.

My wife tried a KFC vegan burger a couple of days ago. I tasted it. Far too pungent and processed for me.

I think any meat substitute is going to be far too processed

Have you tried any meat substitutes Pete? Or do you stick with burgers, sausages and bacon?

I was seeking clarification of what you meant by all meat substitutes being ‘far too processed’. Care to expand on what this means? For example, do you mean that too much salt/sugar has been added, that they are classed as carcinogenic as are some processed meats, or do you simply avoid all processed foods because they are processed?

It's bloody awful. Had I consumed it blindfolded or not inside the kfc which smells like kfc, you'd never guess it was the real McCoy. This is the issue with vegan versions of well established meat fast food. It is nothing like it.

Texture, smell and taste were all completely off. Not disgusting but I'd never get it again, I'm not vegan and never will be but wanted to try it...

try and avoid all as they are processed so much i cant believe they do anything for you nutritionally. dont get me wrong they are still probably better than meat but the whole point of me going vegan is i'm going plant based trying to eat as fresh etc as possible not just replacing with junk food ( well bar being drunk as above...! )

theyd be better off just deep frying some vegetables coated in their kfc breadcrumbs/sauce

Nah that would be ste.

These things are publicity stunts first and foremost. If you end up with something edible as well that’s a plus but from memory KFC have never really been good at edible food.

Thanks, I’m similar but do occasionally and selectively eat some processed food alongside the whole food stuff. As always, it’s a balance.
