The nice cup of tea thread
Discussion
Over the last few months, I've really been getting into teas and infusions. I've mostly been buying stuff from T2 and Whittard, with the latter being the preferred option. Seems like I'm on an unending quest to try every kind of tea available.
Currently working my way through Whittard's Vanilla Sundae: https://www.whittard.co.uk/tea/tea-type/black-tea/...
Is anyone else a tea monster? Any recommendations?

I order a few kilos each year from http://glenburnteaestate.com. And I'll use Rakuten for genmaicha/sencha because it's cheaper for large quantities.
The really fancy shop in the UK is Mariages Freres. It's French, as are a few of the top end tea merchants. And proper expensive, but they have some teas that are difficult to get elsewhere like Maori Blue.

I still have a good >600g of stuff to work through but will keep it in mind for next time.

Do. It's like watching a creature come to life from an alien egg. https://jingtea.com/shop/tea-type/flowering?gclid=...
Osmanthus is the nicest I think - sort of 'honeyed'. I've tried them all and the rest are ok but much of a muchness.
Yunnan Gold - also from Jing - is a great afternoon cuppa with a sticky cake.
Jing is good, but on the pricey.side. Although their tea explorer sets are very handy, for trying teas without having to buy a full pack of tea to be able to try it. Nothing worse than buying an expensive tea and finding it a let down.
These people also offer a similar product to Jing's explorer sets. https://www.theteamakers.co.uk/
I have had these people recomended to me, but have not used them as yet. Seem good . https://www.tea-and-coffee.com/
My go too place for tea, over the years has been these people. https://www.hebdentea.com/
Good service and the quality has been for me, excellent. They also offer small taster weights of many teas, so as to be able to try in the same principle like the explorer sets mentioned above.
I've checked out the French outfit mentioned previously in the thread, but have not ordered from them, I'm afraid they come across to me as being overly pretentious , leaving me unwilling to pay out to find out if their hype is justified or not. The thought of shelling out £100 (and more) for a 100g of tea, does concentrate the mind. Still, it's there if the need takes one.

Darjeeling. King of teas.
Leaves of course. I use a ball infuser (oo, er missus) for single mug.
Waitrose own (when available) is exceptional VFM.
Or these chaps by mail, also on ebay.

This is our everyday tea. Made in a teapot, and brewed for around 5 minutes. It really is very nice!
