they're not trying to 'erase your existence', they are (very misguidedly) trying to help - if you want erasure from existence you'll need to look to certain other countries where being lgbt+-*/ is actually a death sentence.
Advocating for a therapy that tries to convince gay people that they are actually just confused straight people is very much erasing their existence. Just because they're not killing people doesn't make it better, they're both bad.

Agree entirely. I know someone who went to this Oracle demo, simply because they like to associate themselves with anything woke that's going on Facebook. For a section of the community that asks for tolerance the LGBT+ rent-a-mob are not being very tolerant.

Just don't shop there. I abhor Tim Martin for his stance on Brexit, but quite respect that many people agree with him and love his pubs. I just choose not to drink in them.

What has surprised me more is that they have opened in the Unit Of Doom in the Oracle - nothing has been a success there because it is cold, draughty, dismal, stuck out on a limb and generally not a very nice place to sit and eat, if anywhere in a shopping mall is. The Five Guys location in the Oracle seems immensely more popular, although 'dining in a shopping centre' is not really my thing.

I'm going to give Chick Fil A a try in the next few weeks, more out of curiosity that I'm fairly well travelled in the US until 7yrs ago, but have never seen it there, which makes me wonder if they have unappealing branding or I walk around with my eyes shut!

Your eyes were probably firmly open - their growth since 7 years ago has been nuts - especially moving from ‘small town America’ to more established places.

They're not stopping people doing anything. They weren't blockading doorways or harrassing people.

All they did was bring attention to an issue with a business in their local area, the company that owned the centre decided not to renew the lease.

this would be the same company which is part owned by that well known bastion of lgbt+-*/ rights Abu Dhabi? Hmmm good to see that the protest lot aren't really confused

I obviously can't speak for them but perhaps they didn't know about the company that backs the centre. I would wager a lot of people wouldn't have been aware before people were looking for a gotcha in a conversation like this.

Unlike Chick Fil A who's views have been very public and widely reported.

in the US they may have been - in the UK though? Errrrrm not so much. Shame to see that people are going to lose their jobs because of tolerance though

That's because they've never had a presence here. They've been reported on by the UK press though and anyone who follows LGBT rights news online would've heard about it. Hence the protest to bring awareness.

It is a shame that people will lose their jobs at Chick Fil A but they have plenty of notice so hopefully they won't have trouble finding something else.

Well Chick Fil A is closely linked to the WinShape Foundation who funds the National Christian Foundation who currently have a minister in Uganda campaigning closely with the Ugandan government for anti LGBT laws which include the Death Penalty. I'd say the death penalty is pretty much the definition of erasing LGBT peoples existence.

Poultry farming is a lot better for the environment than beef farming, which is one of the largest producers of methane and a not irrelevant source of CO2 either.

Shouldn't we, for that reason, be encouraged to eat at Chick-Fil-A rather than Maccie D's or BK?

Why are XR not getting involved, and trying to out-protest LGBT groups?

Environmentally the best thing you could do is not eat at any of them.

The factory farming needed to supply these huge chains causes environmental carnage.

Not to mention the wastefulness of their supply chains, single use packaging etc.

I quite like them, there is one close to where my sister lives in the US so have tried them a few times. I much prefer Nandos but would rather Chick Fil A than KFC.

Shame on the oracle managment.
Really? Shame they decided they didn't want to be associated with religious bigots?
Does it not strike you as hypocritical that the centre management have associated themselves with the LGBT bigots instead?

Sorry, posting in haste. I've corrected my post to make it clearer.

The wider point is that the LGBT lobby seems to be acting in a bigoted and intolerant manner themselves, particularly as they are seeking tolerance from others.

WinShape Foundation was set up by the same married couple (man and wife as they consider it should be) who also founded Chick Fil A. So pretty closely linked.

It still doesn't make any sense. They're not against Christians or religion per se just the intolerant element.

Yeah, couldn't care less what motivates your homophobia - imaginary friends or not, if you campaign against equal human rights expect pushback from those who don't believe you're a better person for being attracted exclusively to the opposite gender.
