Cheese from a can?

I was today years old when I discovered that there is tinned cheese.
Apparently it's the most common breakfast in a lot of Arab countries.

You guys would love this restaurant I just went to, in Brussels www.vivamboma.be

As a group, we had duck hearts, lamb testies and sweetbreads, cow udders, various marrows, tripes, cheeks and tongues

Tripe. Although I'm not 100% sure I've ever actually been offered it
Me too! I have eaten it as a child and it tastes as bad as it smells. Tripe and bread and butter pudding are my worst nightmare. Junket is pretty nauseating too.

All that seafood you get from those little sea side stalls, wheckles cockles etc. Like rubber rolled in grit, tried it once, foul things.

A ' Fricassee of animals' sounds interesting.
'Tongue of warm lamb'..... I reckon it cooled down fairly rapidly afterwards !! biggrin

Humans.

Tastes just like chicken.

You may as well eat bloody chicken.

They don't talk back to you either..
I was told by an ex fireman that burnt humans smell like roast pork!
Also seem to remember reading somewhere that cannibals call humans long pigs.

The only controversial thing I can think of which I haven’t tried is Marmite.

Yeast spread
Vegetable extract
Not appealing
Smells bad
Yeast again

However I’m actually a bit ashamed to have reached the age of 30 without trying it so if someone on here dares me I’ll do it.

I dare you.

Apparently on toast is a favourite way of ingesting it.

Do you like Twiglets?

I would have said Sea Cucumber but on a recent trip to China I eventually succumbed and tried it - was in a Michelin starred restaurant which somehow persuaded me that it might not be that bad.

I really can't say I liked it.

Definitely not going to try jellied eels, though. The thought of it is repulsive.

I’ll eat literally anything except tripe. Liver and kidneys delicious, particular fan of calves liver. Brains, hearts, and bone marrow delicious.

But, I’ve tried tripe multiple times and each time it was more disgusting than the last. Tastes like a shed full of cows smells.

For me it's most fish but sardines in particular are the nastiest smelling things on earth.

My objection to them stems from a prank that possibly backfired a bit at uni when a group of us hid a gone off tin of sardines in another house mates breakfast cereal and it stank the whole house out.

Bananas. Despite fully appreciating their health benefits, a childhood of being force fed them has done it for me. It's the slimy texture...
+1 repulsive, makes the hair stand up on my neck just looking atone. Clearly we have evolved quicker than the rest of the human race.

Before I turned vegetarian approx 30 years ago, it would have been most vegetables, all seafood with the exception of cod, and rhubarb.

It became all seafood (never could stand the smell even when I ostensibly would eat fish - as a consequence I cannot say if I have ever eaten shellfish of any kind), meat obviously, and still rhubarb. I absolutely detest the latter.

One other item added in recent years: avocado.

And walnuts. Even now on the rare occasion that I get bought a packet of walnut whips, the squirrels get fed the walnuts.

Tripe.

Brassicas. Apparently some people have an enzyme or something that makes brassicas taste unpleasant, so that must include me. Oddly enough, I like rocket, which is a brassica - who knew?

Sweetcorn.

Cucumber, courgette, aubergine.

Eggs in any form - fried, poached, scrambled, boiled, or in an omelette, quiche or tart. Hate the texture and the smell.

I think there's about half a dozen days in the last 50 years when I haven't had a banana. Apart from the fact that they are delish, it's the ease of use. No cutlery, no need to bag it or wrap it. Just grab and go. Stick it in your briefcase, in your pocket, it won't leak or break.

I'm just too lazy not to like bananas.

Eggs. I would puke. Don't care if you boil, scramble, poach, fry, do cartwheels, there is no way I am even trying it. Same for omelettes, creme brulee etc.

I'm amazed nobody has said coffee yet! OK, I know it's a drink more than a food, but it's repulsive, and still puts in guest appearances to make things like Tiramisu utterly inedible!

Also bananas. I'm definitely with the banana haters!

Try adding Marmite to the roasting tin with your riast spuds - gives them a delicious tang.
