I've posted on here before about how I've typically found Verdant IPAs to be a bit overrated and not worth the fairly extortionate prices they command compared to heavily hopped beers of similar quality from other breweries.

Well this one is 100% worth the £9 it cost. Absolutely bloody sensational.

Interesting.... I've always found Verdant to be very good. Extremely consistent as well.

You guys may wish to order some Polly's special birthday beer.... a 13.2% QIPA. Get in quick, only went on sale at 11am today:
It's been a while since anyone has done a good TIPA, let alone a QIPA. They do seem to have rather gone out of fashion.

I've bought four hehe

From my local craft beer shop, rather than direct from Verdant. Don't know what it costs on their website.

Rosscow, I don't think I've ever had a "bad" Verdant beer. Most I've had are "good", a couple have been "very good". Things like Even Sharks Need Water are a solid 4/5; Fruit, Car a bit higher maybe. But none (until that one) have been truly exceptional for me. I've consistently enjoyed, for example, DEYA DIPAs significantly more than Verdant ones despite them usually being somewhat cheaper for a full 500ml can.

I first sampled Fruit, Car and DEYA's Saturated in Strata in fairly close proximity and thought it was incredible that the latter had more complexity of hop flavour than the former despite being a single hop beer.

Yep, valid points!

They are as you say though, consistently good.

Along with Verdant you can't really go wrong with (for me) Deya, Beak, Kernel, Floc, Howling Hops, Burning Sky and Polly's.

Deya, Beak, Kernel and Verdant I would say are the top tier.

Here are a couple I've enjoyed recently:

Beak 'Willo' (Xmas day choice via mini-keg!). 6.5% IPA. Superb:

The aforementioned Beak collaboration with Third Moon (Canadian). 'Paste' 11% Imperial stout. Extremely decadent!

And another great collaboration between Floc and Deya, 'Dancing in Time.' 6% IPA. Lovely (note the Czech style pour - my local landlord is a big Czech beer fan!).

Dessert beer brought over by my very thoughtful niece… biggrin

Predictably sweet but quite drinkable for 7%

Their previous birthday beers have been sensational.

Popped into Beak on Tuesday to pick up 4 kegs for my local landlord.

Did anyone try the Beak x Third Moon collaboration stout called Paste? 11% and bloody amazing!
I uhmed and ahhed and then went to order and of course it was sold out. Did manage to get the annual silly strong Stout from Deya a few weeks ago. Definitely one to share with friends.

Gave this one a try yesterday.

It was quite ridiculous. Like drinking a gin laden tropical smoothie whilst your stoner mate punches you in the face with his spiff hand.

Yep, I picked up 4 cans of that. Tried one, it’s phenomenal!

Also got 4 cans of 2023 Verdant Putty which I haven’t tried yet.

I see Watty and Dickie off of Brewdog have appeared on the list of Top 100 Tax Payers, sticking it to The Man by handing over 15m each.

Wild beer’s new web shop is live. It’s also a new production facility, company and entire team… I recognise a lot of the beers from before though. Wonder if it will be any good.

I had one of those from a beer shop tasting night some time back, I don't usually like IPAs but it doesn't have the grapefruit taste I don't like from IPAs. I had another at the weekend in a local bar too.
Yes, I've been trying a few so far I'm liking the Big Bunny best.

For £6ish a can I thought both were pretty average tbh!

However I am spoilt as the tap room around the corner is amazing at the moment and they do 1L takeaways!

I had a can of My Continuous Improvement by Cloudwater last night. I didn't rate it at all especially for £10. I'm surprised by the glowing ratings on Untappd.

Cloudwater used to be pretty special and warrant the high prices, I’d say they started going average before covid and haven’t had a good beer from them since.

I’ve got a few 10-13% in the fridge - will keep this description in mind as I glug away… thumbup

Had this the other day…

Tasted a bit like breakfast in a bottle - think muesli rather than Full English - and was very smooth and gluggable for 7.4% - worth looking out for if that’s your thing and you can find stuff from The Bruery… beer
