Had some Alpha Delta Thalia on tap this evening. 7.5% thick pineapple. Quite good. Just found out it's closing down.

A couple of nice ones

One for the hell of it

And an all time classic that's hard to beat

Sounds almost as awful as the Brewdog version.

yuck
Boo for you. tongue out

Most of these were very drinkable especially when paired with the copious amounts of leftovers and cheese I've eaten. The Lemon Drop NEIPA is a danger beer, doesn't taste like a 6.2% at all.

Did my bratwursts in the lager biggrin

Not a very exciting Xmas or New Year due to illness.

Had a couple of this as an Xmas present - don't normally go for these type of beers just taste the strength rather than the flavour.
This was very nice though - very smooth and flavoursome.

Windswept Brewery of Lossiemouth in the north of Scotland finishing up now. Very sad.

They had a decent range and I always thought they did pretty well. At least it is an orderly wind down.

Imperial Affogato - coffee and vanilla stout from Vocation, 10.7%, beautifully balanced…

Stouts and Porters seem to be making a big comeback with most of the so called 'craft' brewers having at least one offering. I've never been a stout fan (hate Guiness for example) but some of these new styles are very good indeed. Not keen on the stupidly high ABV ones, 5% ish seems to be the sweet spot for me

Is it fashion or is economics at play, lower hop costs for example? Being a keen all grain brewer myself I know that some of the modern hops like Mosaic used in american style IPA's are now stupidly expensive, in some cases twice the price of the more mundane varieties that can readily be used in stouts.

Either way I'm happy to see them and to drink them.beer

Well, here’s another one to look out for - Whole Lotta Colada from The Bruery - it’s a 2022 beer so might not be many around…

Aged in bourbon barrels, with mango, coconut and vanilla, weighs in at 10.5% and balance is superb.

Found a new bar whilst travelling through London. A few minutes walk from Victoria in Pimlico is a place called Cask Pub and Kitchen - about 10 hand pumps for cask and another 10 taps for keg beer. Also many bottles and cans.
Decor inside is a little odd - maybe some sort of American diner before ?

All the cask beers I tried were excellent and good value for London.

Interesting stairway down to the bogs, all the normal beer mats on display but large collection of what appear to be original old beer signs - never seen so many !!

Location c/o Charlwood Street/Tachbrook Street

And another weighty stout…

Again, brilliantly balanced, this time with smokiness to counter the sweetness, and help disguise the 12%
