Me, my Air Fryer and I… and You
Discussion
After a few weeks of the John Lewis AF im mightily pleased.
Only issue is cleaning and I can see why dual fryers are around as doing a full meal is hard work when you've got meats/fries/veg you need to do.
Very pleased with how quick it does meat.
I bought a Russell Hobbs Microwave with "air fryer" but its no more than a convection fan and didn't get hot enough so defeated the object in savings on time/electricity.

For those of you with Ninja AF300s how long do fresh chicken breasts take to cook on average ?
My non Ninja appears to be taking longer than it used to and am considering 'upgrading' to a Ninja

Get the AF400 over the AF300. Hardly any difference in footprint, but more practical space inside.

I bought a Ninja AF500UK last week which is 10.4 litres and I honestly think, for us, it's a game changer.
So far I've cooked jacket potatoes, roast beef and sweet potato fries, chicken thighs in bacon and fish fingers. All have been superb and much, much quicker than using the oven.
I think it renders our oven redundant tbh. We're currently using it as dishwasher dirty crockery storage to stop our tom cat brilloing them with his tongue.
I'm in the same boat - bought it directly and it arrived the next day. I'm mighty impressed and used my oven for the first time in 3 weeks yesterday! So far I've cooked jacket potatoes, roast beef and sweet potato fries, chicken thighs in bacon and fish fingers. It's just for 1 person so don't need it to be massive.......15 minutes, mine's taking 35 !Get the AF400 over the AF300. Hardly any difference in footprint, but more practical space inside.
Must be something wrong with it

Looking for advice. We saw a Salter EK4750 in "Middle Lidl" this morning for £89.99. It is a 2 drawer (3.7 litres each, total 7.4 litres). The reviews are very good. There are two of us and we usually cook from scratch every day. Would this be a good way of getting into airfrying?
The missus wanted to buy it straight away, but I am not an impulse buyer.
Personally I'd want at least one drawer being 4.5 /5 litres. That size will take a whole chicken. Ninja do one with two 5ish litre drawers, or one with a big 10 litre drawer that can be separated into two. More expensive though. I have a Lakeland dual drawer one, with a 5l and 3l drawer and can cook pretty much everything in it, and it's usually availble for around 90 quid. The missus wanted to buy it straight away, but I am not an impulse buyer.

Fair enough on the size, but the AF400 will cook a whole medium 1.6kg chicken in one drawer. The AF300 won’t. Even as a single person that’s a good reason.Must be something wrong with it
35mins would produce a lump of coal in the Ninja. You have a problem!

Having looked at the 300/400 Ninjas I've realised the drawers are a fair bit smaller than my current fryer which is a problem because I often cook 3 large breasts at a time and they won't fit in the Ninjas
I will look at other options
The AF500 has a removeable draw to give one big tray & it's reduced in the Valentines Day sale:I will look at other options

Yeh a friend has one.I see some possible negatives with that,if you're doing chips one side and something like fish the other you can't really shake the chips in isolation....and you have to clean the whole drawer even if you only use 1 side.....plus it's massive !https://ninjakitchen.co.uk/product/ninja-foodi-fle...

On that note my Mrs wanted one for Christmas. At first I thought it a trap. Domestic appliance as a gift has always been a no no. Ground I would never dare tread. But have to say we and more importantly she loves it. Hasn't used the oven since.
Spent £180 on a Nija AF400. With the saving in lecy and we no longer have to have the ovens cleaned twice a year at £120 a visit. It's paid for itself already.
Just wish all her pressie requests could be so practical.

Unless they are freekishly Frankenstein chicken breasts, the AF400 would do 3 at a time. As previously mentioned in can cook a 1.6kg whole chicken in each drawer.I will look at other options

What's the internal size of the drawers ? Mine is 25cm x 15cm and 3 Lidl breasts just fit in with no room to spareHarry H said:

Just happy she wanted something specific and easy to get.
