I guess by reading instructions and then trial and error, the same as anything else, isn't it?
I've never had to trial and error oven cooked food. Packet says, in it goes, out it comes perfectly cooked.Given that majority of food packets will only give oven (and fan oven) instructions I thought there might be a rough guide that people use.

I usually use 3/4 of the cooking time (and the same fan oven temperature) - this works well for most things. Given that majority of food packets will only give oven (and fan oven) instructions I thought there might be a rough guide that people use.
I check anything meaty is cooked through, but so far it's all been fine.

That's the one Costco sell - think it's under £50 in store, bit more online. We've had one a few months - only got it as we had to set up a temporary kitchen during our house renovation. It's great for chips, and most things that you'd normally fry.
Trying to do two things in it is a bit of a faff - we usually put things on the top tray in a paper liner, but then they can get a little soggy. Costco are doing a dual one now for £90ish - apparently compares well to the Ninja.
They do take up quite a bit of space.

thats a good point, perhaps I shoudl be looking at two zone jobbiesRecently bought a middle of the range fryer. Wanted one for ages but kept talking myself out of it. Its been revelation. I'm very much a foody and cook a lot, from healthy food through to treats once you have the hang of a few meal time staples, adjusting timing for other foods is easy. Toying with the idea of getting a top end ninja.
I currently have some marinated foraged beef steak mushrooms in the frier, ready for pulling later. Awesome stuff done with a homemade bbq sauce. Was an experiment for a veggie friend recently and it went down very well. Nearly as well as by 3 day bbq turkey, but that won't go in the frier other than leftovers.

We went in a different direction to the drawer ones and bought a Tower Vortx 10-in-1, graded, for £85. It's really excellent - we were both sceptical beforehand, but it's already transformed our cooking in a couple of weeks.
I too looked at reviews and decided this would be a more versatile machine for us.
