I was 100% against oven chips until I was recommended these.

Triple cooked McCain oven chips. They are coated in beef dripping and are fantastic

M&S do similar but are not as good
I’d have to disagree, I find them too greasy. Her in doors would agree with you though.
Just looked them up. 87% potato, cooked, 15% fat and salt added.
Compared to McCain Naked Chips 97% potato, cooked 3.6% fat.

Maybe the extra fat helps with the cooking and taste?

Yep gastro chips by far best oven chip, trick is to get your tray really hot and the frozen fat on the chips instantly melts and starts sizzling away.

Turn them half way through and again towards the end of cooking and they aren't greasy at all.

I also find it's important to only have one layer of chips on the tray, so every chip is touching the tray without any stacked on top of each other.

Amazed how many manufactures manage to take a simple chip and stop it being vegetarian at a stroke.

I'm out

I've not tried these yet but they get good reviews, and there's a range of vege options.

These were good, expensive but better than the Tesco equivalent posted earlier.

I'm a fan of what I would call a "medium cut" chip/frie, like you get in Nandos and used to in KFC until they went over to horrific skin-on. All the supermarkets and brands seemed to only do thin fries or fat chips and Booker only did medium cut in a deep fry version. I then discovered these:

For a regular midweek eating they are great. Weekends I'll make my own fat chips from scratch.
Excellent chip, I'm also a fan of the skin on version.

I've just had a shop in Iceland and bought some of these to try tonight along with a steak pie from a local bakers, and some tubs of beef gravy that a local butcher sells, which is amazing stuff......

If you don't mind Iceland being the type of shop it is, then they do have some decent priced stuff. I buy their frozen lemon and lime slices for drinks..
