Not proud after replying to Eski on the Breakfast thread re not being a greedy fat bar steward ..

Last hurrah up North - today’s Lunch was Fish, chips, curry sauce, bap, can of dandelion & burdock + can of shandy - eaten in the air conditioning in the truck.

Then after the 210 mile schlep back down south to home - invite for a few beers after taking 2 hrs to do the last 30 odd miles …. Late dinner/supper a6fter beers.

So hanging my head in shame - repentant.

it was actually quite spicy! was super suprised after I had a few bites and how much kick it has

solid offering tbh and will have again!
i had one today, its spicier than i was expecting. A solid 7/10
Had 2 of these Saturday night after a few beers in town, and they were pretty good. Impressive amount of heat, decent size fillet, really not much to complain about...............................apart from the following day.

My arse looked like the Japanese flag until around lunchtime.

KFC do only produce one thing- chicken- so you'd think they'd be better at cooking it than McD. The stuff outside of their core chicken remit is generally awful. Case in point, KFC chips.
disagree, the new kfc chips are the best out of mcdonalds/bk/kfc imo by far

When they are cooked properly which 99% of time they are not. Thats the whole problem with KFC in that consistency is not its strongpoint. Are the chips going to be limp and undercooked or crispy today? is the gravy going to be like wallpaper paste or like water? is the chicken coating going to be nice and crisp or like spreadable stuffing in places? These are questions you dont get at McDonalds where consistency is simply about temperature

I liked KFC's chips before they went down the route of changing/'improving' on them every so often. Sometimes the chips had a little soggy/limpness to them that i prefer.

I find it odd that they've changed them so much, yet McDs and BK have never changed them once, ever.

BK have definitely changed their chips, they did it back when I worked for them. When I started, they had a lovely coating on, I'm not sure what it was but they were pretty amazing.

The change made them relatively bland for me, I will admit I've not had BK chips in quite a while though.

Bring back the old ones!

I remember early 2000's they brought out King Fries which had a cornflour coating, they then became their main fries. The ones they have now are ste in comparison, I have to smoother them in sweet chilly dip to make them edible.

A king mixed 'bab from a few weeks back. The chicken and lamb was poor, too rubbery, and far too much onion. The elephants leg was the best part of it.

Had to work late 3 nights this week, which resulted in...

This was the best of the trio, a south indian garlic chilli pizza. The heat level was superb yum

Been to a beer festival today, and following an hour and a half on the train back I was bloody rav!

Staggered home from the station via the local maccy's. Something called a McSpicy (surprising amount of heat, although not much in terms of actual flavour), 20 nuggets, fries and a chocolate shake... Should soak up a few pints' worth of craft beer.

Here’s a slightly less dirty takeaway from Friday night as it came from a local restaurant that also does takeaway, rather than a simple takeaway.
Please don’t judge me for having such high standards….at least the rice on the Kung po chicken is still square…

Beige from the Sainsbury’s deli near work, so you know it’s well cooked…
