I'm out in the sticks so I can either wait 40-50 minutes for a pizza to be delivered from an indie in town or I can drive the 6 minutes to the Dominos in the next village and collect it Because we're in different counties, the Dominos computer says no for delivery
I think they’re telling you porkies, there’s a Dominos’s in Sandhurst that delivers to Berkshire, Hampshire and Surrey Edited by eltawater on Monday 2nd August 09:06
Besides, it's 6 minutes for me to drive there and be certain I'll be getting my food in a timely fashion than to wait for someone to get round to delivering to me

Both and also stuff like food management. Most people don’t have their fridges stacked properly and don’t have things labelled effectively in the fridge with dates on them and stuff like that. They also don’t have a programme of deep cleans for things like fridges and ovens and all that. Cross contamination would probably be an issue too and lots more. My point is that a restaurant that gets one star is not necessarily dirty, grimy and covered in mouse droppings etc which is what people expect. It is just as likely to be the fact that they handle food much like you would at home
Interesting stuff, thanks. You've made me think actually; I think my fridge is pretty clean but when I try to remember when I last emptied it and washed and disinfected it properly, I really can't remember ever doing it! That's now on the weekend jobs list. Chinese staple. Half rice half chips. If in southern Ireland a long tray. Big aluminium takeaway tray half rice half chips and curry sauce. There is an Irish knack to it though. I order a takeaway and sometimes (in the olden days) would go for a pint whilst waiting. The time I had a long tray we had 6 pints before we ordered and a couple whilst waiting. His SWMBO was not impressed. Mine just laughed.

Chips 100% go with a Chinese. You should try some of the types which aren’t plain chips.
Agree they don’t belong with a curry though!
Our decent place does really good Salt & Pepper chips, stacked with MSG - lovely.Agree they don’t belong with a curry though!

London is disappointing. Trying to find a nasty greasy king kebab and everywhere seems to be trying to be clean non thread worthy food
Do you mean to say that you couldn't find a single dirty takeaway among the almost 9,000 establishments?Far be it for me to question your methods, but I don't think you're trying very hard...
Did you consider perhaps using different search terms, like "mixed kebab"?

+1 Not come across a king kebab neither.
What is it
In central scotland a king kebab means it comes with a naan, the standard kebab comes with a pitta bread. What is it
So for each type of kebab - doner, chicken, shish, etc - you get a king version.
The normal one will come in a polystyrene container, the king version comes in a pizza box.
Some places will offer a choice of naan in your king kebab eg garlic or cheese.
Scroll back to see a king mixed bab i posted about 10 days ago.
