cheese on a pizza should be applied sparingly otherwise it's just a mass of grease

On my way home from London stopped in Glasgow to get a king kebab as had been craving since my complaints of none in London!

Tell me more!
You clearly haven't been to Cafe Helen on Edgeware Road in London - delicious, & conveniently open until 5am lick

This thread has inspired me to make some dough up....nothing beats homemade pizza (I know, contrary to the thread title!)

Is there such a thing as a reasonably healthy pizza?
Yes, Very thin base made of good quality flour, base sauce of pure tomato, lots of veg, real meat. Doesn't contain a thick layer of processed cheese.

Like that one smile
This.

We've become much too accustomed to pizza being a pile-on of the cheapest, most processed trash available.
Hmm im not sure everyone would agree, Sure a proper italian thin based. buffalo mozzarella and veggies wood fired pizza would be healthier than the dominios type pile it high on a thick based crap but its hardly healthy in terms of calories, carbs, saturated fat and the like but hey this is the dirty take away thread so a "healthy-ish" pizza doesnt belong here.

Unbelievably, it wasn't actually that bad.

I have no illusions as to what 'meat' was in it (the same meat used to make rissoles. Ear holes, eye holes and......) but it did actually taste of kebab.

Do you say to yourself "I fancy a dirty takeaway today as a treat, I will just go down to the local wood fired Italian place, and get a pizza with an egg on it"?

Well I survived the triathlon. Thanks for the best wishes. I hadn't expected my post to cause so much controversy!

I do the sport so that I can eat dirty takeaways (plus beers and chocolate).

Living in Switzerland the standard of all pizza is pretty much like the one I posted. Even non-Italian run places generally have a proper pizza oven. Kebabs are sadly comparatively healthy versus the UK. I guess there is Dominos if you want poor quality overpriced crap.

I'm so sorry.

I lived in Switzerland for 2yrs on and off (was living between London and Lausanne), and was generally very disappointed with the availability of filth.

Well the Swiss still eats dogs and cats, surely that would be dirty enough for the thread?

Allegedly cats are eaten occasionally, but I haven’t heard of them eating dogs.

I'd take a pizza done in a proper pizza oven most of the time but I would still like a stodgy Dominos every now and then. Unfortunately for me there are no decent wood fired pizza places which deliver near me. There is one place which does wood fired pizzas but i'm not convinced they are fresh bases as the texture is very strange.

Also, eating cats and dogs is no more illegal in the UK than it is in Switzerland.

Yes but we don't eat it, so not sure what the legalities have to do with it. There are catons that make dog sausages for example, and cats are usually eaten at xmas time. No vast numbers but still happens as it part of culture and traditional. In the UK it might be legal but is not done at all.

Although it is irrationally frowned upon as is eating horse. If killed humanely why is it different to eating any other animal?
