Tried a new chippy today, not even a little filth but the chip were very good as was the fish, thought that the half of a lemon was a good move. Will go again and check out the curry dip.

price of takeaway makes me sad. just paid £12.50 for singapore chow mein and dumplings.
I'm sure pre-2020 it would've cost about £8.
My local kebab place has been putting 50p on everything every few months.

It is starting to get to the point where we are not bothering.

I don't think they are taking the pee either, just trying to keep up with costs to run the business. Feel sorry for them we used to order religiously every Friday night but I reckon we are down to once a month now.

I had some fairly lacklustre salt and pepper chicken wings last night. I didn’t bother photographing them. But I did see this in the takeaway…

It was a Chinese takeaway, rather than a chicken shop. Is this fusion cuisine, or cultural appropriation?

My maiden contribution to this thread - chicken and mushroom curry, salt and pepper chips and seaweed, from a takeaway just outside Wolverhampton. Bigger portions than they look in the photo too!

Watched a friends son play football, division 2 yesterday. Was meant to be having steak for dinner, but by time I’d driven round M25, was getting a bit too late to start cooking. So proposed Chinese as an alternative …. Ordered/collected on the way.

Not the most flattering of photos - but was V tasty.

Malaysian chow mein, beef curry, large pancake roll.

Leftovers for lunch Monday !!

I’m intrigued to as what it actually was ? What looks like some sort of filled bread on the outside ? Then a chickpea curry on top, I think I see chips underneath ?

Yeah, chips, chickpea curry, onion bhajis and bread pakora. Hadn’t heard of the last before. But it’s spiced potato in a white bread sandwich, dipped in gram flour batter and fried.

I prefer chips or naan to rice and decided on chips this time.

Tell me you're Scottish without telling me you're Scottish biggrin

That's a new one on me - sounds like a belly buster!

They're just wee but aye, when I first saw them I assumed it was a local delicacy laugh. Turns out it's a fairly common indian street food though. If you're in the area to get something from Ashoka south side I'd recommend.

I'll order some next time I'm up at my sisters in Newlands!

Danny Malin (from Rate My Takeway) posted over the weekend that his fiancee is expecting, despite him apparently having had the snip!
