Best burgers and burger buns?

Usually favour GBK burgers but couldn’t get those today and tried these from Tesco.
Chuck, skirt and bone marrow. Didn’t shrink too much and stayed tender.
Probably stick with GBK but one of the better alternatives I’ve tried this year.
I had wondered about those, but could not remember if I had tried them or not (and if I had was I underwhelmed, else may now be worth trying (again)).Chuck, skirt and bone marrow. Didn’t shrink too much and stayed tender.

While I am not a big fan of much from Aldi, had their Ultimate Burger again the other day and it is certainly one of the best at present, also managed to get a nigh on perfect char on it as well (BBQ cooked). One thing that does confuse me though, my local Aldi (Watford) sell it with the steaks, not the burgers.

Is there a PH-recommended supermarket burger than hasn't been compressed to an overly-dense disc of meat?
Buy a good supermarket burger, take some greaseproof paper, take you thinning tool of choice and remove the dense away!Luke. said:
I can't work out why not one supermarket can sell a loosely packed 'smash' style burger.
Because there is zero need to. Just buy a pack of mince. Cut the mince in two (based on a 500g pack), form each half into a rough ball (don’t work it too hard), season, flatten, cook.
If you have a good butcher their mince tends to be a little coarser than supermarket stuff and is better still.

Finished with a bit of lettuce and M&S burger sauce (which tasted of gerkins and apparently is the same as Big Mac sauce)
The M&S sauce is similar to Big Mac sauce. The Heinz American style burger sauce tastes like the real thing. Slight thread resurrection for this year.
I've just tried the costco wagyu burgers. Having tried most of the supermarket offerings, the normal costco ones have been my go to, but the wagyu burgers will be the normal from now on. Not quite as filling somehow, but good texture and very juicy.
Did mu usual trick of halving each burger, squashing flat between grease proof paper and then cooking, before doubling back up in the bun. Took about 2mins to cook on a red-hot BBQ.

Interesting. I cooked the Costco Wagyu burgers yesterday. I wasn’t that impressed. However I did not half and flatten them. So I will try that with the four still in the fridge I've just tried the costco wagyu burgers.
