Yes agreed, but sometimes I just fancy a burger and can’t be arsed to faff with the bbq, so pan it is.
The fattier burgers don’t work on a pan IMHO
Fair enough. Personally I avoid doing burgers inside as I find to have the pan hot enough to get a good sear I get fat everywhere from spitting and stink the house out from the smoke.

plenty of videos and articles out there comparing fat content, if you want good maillard reaction you need the fat 20-30%. fat is flavour. depending on how much flavour you want mince your own from various bits.... but aint nobody got time for that.
Agreed. Especially if grilling on the BBQ the fat makes some good flames for that flame grilled effect as well.

Try a turkey burger if you want to see what a lack of fat does.
yup. I've tried the asda turkey burgers.. i want to like them.. they're just not tasty. same goes for any 'lean' versions. only way to make those tasty is to have more oil in the pan, kind of defeating their purpose.

I agree my cooker has a griddle and the fat does go everywhere. I recently bought a Ninja Woodfire to replace my gas barbie and it is brilliant, you have to place it outside but it does burgers a treat and is very quick and easy to use. You can, as the name suggests add smoke to your cooking that too is brilliant if you like a subtle smoked flavour to your burger. It even tells you when to flip the burger.

I think Aldi skinny burgers are pretty decent for a lean version. Taste good, minimal mess when cooking.
