I have no affiliation with the company, but credit where credit’s due, these little packs of spices and sauce are really good, if you can’t be arsed cooking properly. Had a tarka dall last night, added some grilled chicken and fresh spinach and it was bloody delicious.

£1.45 at Sainsbury’s (which is half-price), other retailers are available.

Absolutely agree.

The Southern pepper curry is absolutely bloody superb. Real depth of flavour, nice level of heat.

All cooked in the same time it takes for the rice to cook in the microwave.

I've never ever had a nice curry from a supermarket - so I'm pessimistic, but I'll give it a go.

Where do you find them? Are they refrigerated?

Sauces section, room temp.

They're pouches in a card sleeve. Dry whole spices, base sauce and finishing sauce.

Thanks.

I think I'd like to try the Butter Chicken, Korma, Spicy Red Korma and Keralan Coconut Curry.

I don't like any readymade meals or curries on a jar etc, but I'm a big fan of a Charlie Bigham's curry.

They are indeed awesome. We've had 'friday night curry night' every week for the last few years, and always have the tikka masala main, with either the chickpea masala or the lentil tarka daal side. We don't bother adding anything to them other than meat or prawns, and I think the end result is better than most restaurants/takeaways.

Off topic, but the Morrisons Clay Oven plain naan are brilliant too - I've not found any other supermarket ones that come close.

Yes they are very good for a quick solution. Anjum Annan's (the lady pictured on the front of some of these) books are always good too.

Indeed (or at least something similar that came with our microwave) - utterly superb rice with zero effort nor fuss.

I agree with this. Always stock up when they're on offer. I actually stopped making my own curries as these were so easy and quick and came out just as good if not better.

I use one pack per two people. If there's more people then a pack each of different types of curry. Add rice, naan, chutney and it's a curry feast.

Is it just me that finds they make 1.5 portions, at a push? I do like them, especially when they're on offer (so thanks for the heads up OP, will make a trip to Sainsbury's) but do wish they'd be a bit bigger.

Yep. My better half can't handle any heat - so I do a southern pepper curry for my dinner and the next day's lunch is the leftovers in a folded naan with loads of cheese and in the oven to heat through.

These are similar, but by Pataks - The Madras is delicious. others available but I can't recall what. Dirt cheap in Lidl but as with a lot of their stuff, not always available...

O/H found these in one of the local pound shops a couple of months ago. They are excellent but have never made a repeat appearance.

Being using these for years especially the southern pepper fry but recently being using a straightforward sauce from waitrose called holy cow and it is really good and currently on special for a quid!
I will second the pataks one but only used tikka masala.
Also find morrisons own Thai green and massaman curry kits very good.

I’m also a huge fan of the Holy Cow ones, used the Chicken Tikka with tofu instead of chicken and it was great.
