This isn't what your asking, but what do you mean by think it needs a tune?

I have a Lelit Bianca which I took apart trying to solve a problem I didn't have biggrin and they're easy to get at.
It has an intermittent issue where the g/h doesn't get up to temp but the steam / hot water wand are fine. Google / Rocket groups suggested a thermosyphon air block. A blast on either wand clears it and then its fine for a few weeks but then comes back. I spoke to where I bought it from and they suggested a few checks and all was good but to investigate further they would need it in the shop. As they are edinburgh based I decided against shipping it and just lived with the minor problem. But if I am getting it serviced I may as well get the issue looked at whilst its in there.

Ah, interesting, thanks for taking the time to share.

Sounds like a tricky problem to find the source of scratchchin.

Another option would be these guys www.ferrari-espresso.com however it is a bit of a journey for you, never had anything serviced there however have bought parts from them and asked for their advice and they are very knowledgeable, might be worth a ring.

If I had the space I would buy one of the Elektra's even just to look at and admire.

Very nice, and look very expensive.

If you are concerned about looks, for just over £11K I think you can find a much nicer looking machine. I know looks are subjective but from some angles I think Slayer espresso machines are positivly ugly.

The exposed connections/pipework is not overly attractive... but I guess it is good for access. lol

Apologies for the ultra-lazy post, but I can't find my bookmark for that company that sells pre-modified Gaggia stuff (IIRC??) and I don't have time right now to skim back through a million pages of thread... lol

Would anyone have a link to hand?!

Thank you very much in advance!

A £12k coffee machine laugh.

Looks are subjective but they are beautifully made. I'm extremely unlikely to ever get one but it's got a spot in my lottery kitchen build.

it looks like a very nice machine from a coffee shop to me. Not really a home thing.

Like I say, it's not for everyone. It's like wanting a Unimog, I don't need one, I won't use it to it's full capabilities, I would still buy one if I had the space to keep it.

I think I'd make do with a cheapo La Marzocco Linea Mini :-)

Me too, I'm happy with my La Pavoni lever machine but I've been looking at the Micra but they have just released a new updated Mini which I think may be worth looking at. I like my lever machine which is fine for 2 coffees but anymore and it's a bit of a chore so may just spend a bit more on the new Mini.

At the completely other end of the Slayer machine (which I do think looks quite cool), my girlfriend surprised me with this today:

She knows I love a little gadget and have a small collection of different coffee brewing stuff. I don't expect it to do wonders brewing a cup but I'm interested in how well it does for the cost. I'd never seen one before. Shall give it a whirl tomorrow.
