Samuel Groves have emailed with a 30% discount code 'JANBAKE30' for their Mermaid bakeware range.
I've just put one of their Classic Chefs Pans in my basket and applied the code and it worked, so another pan on its way to me.
Dont know if this code should have been rejected for non Mermaid bakeware, but it worked for me.
Just ordered 26cm Chef Pan too, got it with 30% discount so it's showing as £53.07 on my credit card. Strange thing is when I look at the my Samuel Groves order summary it show £75.81 plus £15.16 VAT Total £90.97. I guess it's just their way, but never seen any other online order like it!I've just put one of their Classic Chefs Pans in my basket and applied the code and it worked, so another pan on its way to me.

Edit:
Just checked back seems like it's already been discussed.

I've called a couple of times chasing my order, finally received my delivery invoice yesterday so hopefully that means my pans will arrive on Monday
I've only ever received my order acknowledgment for my latest order, still waiting the invoice which previously came just before delivery.thebraketester said:
Their customer service does leave a lot to be desired.
It does, but I think they overwhelmed themselves with more orders than expected with the 50% offer they ran.LeadFarmer said:

Received my 28cm Classic triply fry pan today.
No free baking tray as promised, or maybe this is being sent separately?
Anyone else received their free tray?
Surprised there wasn't the usual booklet explaining how to season and clean etc.
Gave it a season and cooked a sausage n egg sandwich for my brunch..
It's actually a very nice pan and Im thinking of ordering one of their Classic Chefs pans for cooking curries etc..
As someone who in the past has frequently welded eggs to the surface of stainless steel frying pans how did you season this to avoid that outcome? No free baking tray as promised, or maybe this is being sent separately?

I'm now so wary of "welded egg syndrome" that I have given up on using anything other than non-stick pans - which feels like a cop-out frankly!
Having read the care instructions on the Samuel Groves website I didn't season my pans, just gave them a damn good wash. I have fried a few eggs now, both in dripping and in olive oil and the little bit that has stuck on has come off after soaking for 30 secs or so and wiping with the sponge. I did attempt to make corned beef hash but it went badly, burned on the bottom and looked a nightmare but all came off after soaking for 10 mins.
Some vegetable oil wiped over the whole pan. Put on a medium-high heat until the oil smokes. Leave to cool and redo a couple more times.
Once seasoned, after cooking wipe down with kitchen towel. If that doesn't work soak then wash down with warm water. Avoid detergent. If you've had to clean it well, just do another seasoning. Takes 30 seconds.
I haven't had any real problems other than frying seasoned chicken and dry frying homemade naan breads to cook them and the flour sticking. Both of these were also a nightmare in a non stick as well so not really any different.
Depends if you're prepared to invest time in the pans. They're nice enough for me to care about looking after them whereas before everything was chucked in the dishwasher. We'll see how long it lasts
Also watch the film 'Dark Waters'

I do have some cast iron skillets that I have always seasoned carefully and never wash with detergent. They are OK - great for steaks etc - but I can still weld an egg unless I get it just right. Problem is that to get the egg to release it usually requires a level of heat and time that means the egg ends up hard not runny - which ain't how I like 'em. That said, the tension and drama of not knowing if I'm going to ruin breakfast adds a certain level of interest that you don't get with a non stick pan. It also means that breakfast can get quite sweary if things go wrong!
And yes - I hear what you say about Teflon.
I finally received my pots and pans and I have to say I'm very impressed.
I made a video of mine if anyone wants to see them, I make the odd video to keep me busy.
I bought the Elegance Range.

Following my order placed on 11th Jan 2021 I chased them up by email, and have just received the following in a reply, so it doesn't look like Im getting my new pan any time soon..
Thank you for your email. All our cookware is made to order and finished by hand.
Whilst we are still able to receive orders and continue manufacturing we are experiencing delays due to lockdown and COVID affecting both material and a reduced number of staff able to craft the items.
We expect an indefinite wait time though we are doing our best to produce items as quickly as we can.

I wiped a little rapeseed oil onto the pan and put it onto a high heat for a short while till is smoked, then wiped it further. Let it cool and repeated the process.
I didn't burn the pan as long as I have other pans as I wasn't sure if this one needed it. I do get a little bit of sticking with fried eggs but can usually scrape it off with a silicone spatula. Anything else comes off if I cover with water and return to hight heat, it boils it off.

I should be receiving my order today that I placed on 27th November at 12.51. The order I placed on the same day at 9.45 turned up on 7th January. I think they are a long way behind in their production. It's worth the wait for the 50% discount although I am really struggling to understand the business rationale of offering such a huge discount on stock you don't have.Thank you for your email. At 6:16 shows the 8” Little Gem which seems perfect for my needs, as looking for a single pan at the moment.
I couldn’t find the exact same on the website or was it a special order?

I order the 7 piece Elegance set and the 8" Little Gem was part of that, the set I ordered isn't mentioned on their website now for some reason however I'm sure if you called or emailed them they could make you one.

Now not due until some time after 1st March 2021, apparently a shortage on some outsourced parts such as pan handles. I still want the pan so happy to wait.Thank you for your email. All our cookware is made to order and finished by hand.
