I do think there is some room for fast food snobbery.
For example:
Dominos is ste compared to Papa Johns.
No fast food burger place has ever managed to fill the void in the UK that was left by Wendy's (I think there was an ') - it may still exist in other countries, but it's gone from the UK
The Burger King burger concept is great, but there's something a bit off about their beef patties that ruins it (or maybe it's how they cook them, I think they pre-cook them and then keep them warm)
KFC is better than Chicken Cottage

There was a Wendy's in Slough High Street in the 80s.
One of the criticism that food snobs used to make of McDonalds burgers was that it was both sweet and salty, to appeal to "undeveloped" palates.
Since chefs such as Heston Blumenthal have made a point of offering adult dishes with the same mixture (salted caramel, for example) that particular criticsm seems to have stopped.
I think that most of the comments come from people who are desperate to show that their tastes are superior to hoi polloi.

Anyway there's a disappointing lack of people humblebragging about how their kids only have Maccies once a month, between their Saturday morning Rugby match and Saturday afternoon MMA class
When I had them regularly I'd think of them as a tasty hot sandwich, and as some have said, nutritionally on a par with a lot of supermarket etc sandwiches and better than some.
I don't get the 'gourmet burger' snobbery. I'd have thought 'gourmet' meant quality ingredients but it's usually just more of them.
I'm going to have to have a McD or BK soon, it's been too long.

If you look at a lot of the “gourmet” offerings they have huge amounts of bacon and cheese on top, to separate them from the fatty and salty tastes of McDonalds...I don't get the 'gourmet burger' snobbery. I'd have thought 'gourmet' meant quality ingredients but it's usually just more of them.

Marketing and laziness, particularly of thought.
With the youth it's just following the herd.
They have no place in a forum section for people that actively enjoy food.
The same way that someone with a Micra has no place on a forum for car enthusiasts? With the youth it's just following the herd.

Why did you buy that, laziness, or just following the herd?
They're fantastic little bits of transport, incredibly well engineered and they're useful for keeping the miles off the Mustang; classic policy and all that.

Papa John's in Cambridge is the worst takeaway pizza I have ever eaten. Not only would I rather eat Domino's, I'd rather eat McDonald's. I've seen the pics of other poster's PJ pizzas and they look quite good. No idea why Cambridge is so bad, assuming they all use the same ingredients.
Fortunately we have Cherry Box for decent pizza, or City (stty) Kebab for filth.

I owned a Micra (the bubble shaped one) at the same time as owning a Lotus Esprit Sport 350. I only got rid of it because it failed the MOT and would have cost more tor repair than it was worth. And now I have a Fiat 500 (1.2) to go with my GT-R. Nothing wrong with having one monster and one diddy car; each one has it's job to do.

Wow, thank you so much for posting that. Reading is close enough (maybe 30 mins drive).https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-berkshire-53...

I just hope they've kept enough of their USP to make it what I remember:
Square patties
Patties cooked to order and all burgers made fresh
Chilli made with burger patties
Little sachets of pure chilli - add as many as you like to your chilli.
I used to go to the Wendy's on the Strand every payback back in 1985 - we used to get 15p luncheon vouchers per day, and I'd spend the whole months ration on a blow out.
I will now be keeping a close eye on progress and a trip to Wendy's will be my first cheat day for my diet.

Bought it off the ex as she needed cash to move abroad to be with her dying mother and she wouldn't accept a gift.

So it’s fine for you to drive a cheap, mass produced car that’s not very good, but you’ll still be judge mental about others choices. They're fantastic little bits of transport, incredibly well engineered and they're useful for keeping the miles off the Mustang; classic policy and all that.
OK then.

I've stopped you at your first mistake.MkII Micras are superb for what they are. Probably more reliable than any car you've ever owned and far more suited to our stty roads and lazy driving habits. I left the flower stickers on it my ex had adorned it with so it was a proper fanny magnet as well, the absolute antithesis of a penis extension.

It’s strange how unaware you are, mocking people with basic food tastes, but not noticing that you don’t apply the same standards to yourself.MkII Micras are superb for what they are. Attention fellow scum class, I had a Big Tasty with bacon this evening and proper lovely it was too.
I couldn't have done it without you all keeping it at the top of My Stuff.
Big tasty is good, so long as you have it without tomato. Not that i dont like tomator, but its a big chunk, straight out of the fridge. Which rapidly cools the burger, meaning its pretty much cold by the time you eat it. Without omato, it stays warm.I couldn't have done it without you all keeping it at the top of My Stuff.
