Big tasty is good, so long as you have it without tomato. Not that i dont like tomator, but its a big chunk, straight out of the fridge. Which rapidly cools the burger, meaning its pretty much cold by the time you eat it. Without omato, it stays warm.
yes Great minds! I ordered mine without tomato for the exact same reason. The last time I ordered one the sauce was a bit sickly, so I don't know if it was reformulated or maybe had less, but it hit the spot in a way a gourmet burger just couldn't.

I must admit, they're not the attraction for me compared to the size of the thing. I like the Big Tasty because it's big. And tasty.

Nothing wrong with an occasional McDonald's in isolation. I do tend to find myself feeling a bit crap after having a burger meal, kind of bloaty and lethargic, though.

Isn't that the same feeling after ANY meal that's high in salt and fat (regardless of how posh it is)?

Dunno, as I haven't noticed it as a particular thing when eating out at non-fast-food places. I have noticed a very particular feeling in the gut when I've eaten McDonalds, though. Might just be me. Might be more noticeable at McDonald's because I always eat particular things and it's tightly controlled to be the same, whereas at general restaurants I'm having different things all the time?

I've nothing against junk food, I have been known to live off it far too much.

yep, known in my house as the McSweats ! I have Mcdonalds probably 3 times a year and always feel fairly bad afterwards.....bloaty, sleepy with an uneasy pit of the stomach feeling this is closely followed by the Mc Regret ! which lasts for about 3 months (see above biggrin)

now I like a fish n chips and have a KFC probably once a month no issues ever......its a Golden arch thing frown

Anyone wanna be in my gang - the McDonads triple (breakfast, lunch & dinner)?

During the EO2HO scheme, in one day a mate of mine had a McDonalds breakfast, KFC lunch and BK dinner.

My main gripe with Maccys has always been the price. Much prefer visiting the local bossman chicken shop but to each their own

There's definitely sometimes something in the fillet o fish that makes me unwell. I can feel it almost immediately. It'll be a prickly throat almost immediately after eating which turns into a cold type illness for a few days. Whenever that happens I lose interest in McDonald's until it's a distant memory. Then I'll go every so often (2-4x a year) until it happens again which results in another long hiatus.

The thing about McDonald's is the consistency. It's pretty reliable. £4-5 is better spent in a familiar chicken shop but when you're in an unfamiliar place, do you really want to try out a new chicken shop?

I’ve eaten in a lot of generic chicken shops and most of them are of the same quality. £3 for a fillet burger, chips and a can of soft drink.

McDonalds holds its own in the early hours of the morning. Not so fond memories of shepherding mates who were always a little too inebriated since I’m the designated driver. Those are the times when a large portion of fries and a McFlurry always used to hit the spot.

That and a quick breakfast before a roadtrip. For some reason all the good roadtrips I have done have featured a Mcdonalds breakfast pitstop at the start.

My favourite 'junk' is a Chicken Cottage outlet in a crappy part of Leeds. They are constantly at full tilt, phone ringing of the hook, just eat machine pinging away. Half a spicy grilled chicken with fries and a drink for a fiver. Awesome.

I popped into a Chicken Cottage down here last week, a posh(er) one: https://www.google.com/search?q=tooting+chicken+co...

£6.99 for a grilled burger, chips and drink. And not a can but McDonalds style straw and tub affair.

They had Irun Bru too so went for that smile

It’s not the Dewsbury Road branch is it?

The very same. They're also big petrolheads and used to look out for what car I was driving when I turned up.

McDonald’s is weird it’s the only place I’ve ever eaten and got stomach cramps almost immediately after

Chicken selects do it, so I’ve given up

Even as a travelling technician I’ve not had a McDonald’s for at least 3 years and I think the only reason I did then was because it was the only thing open in the back and beyond that is a Ceredigion.

Much prefer KFC, although I also avoid them. Much easier to pop into Greggs or M&S when I don’t take lunch with me.
