Most products you can buy will have alternatives that are far better, for 3 times the price.
Depends if you think the cheap product is fit for purpose. That meal and that ste up the page is not worth any amount of money IMO.
On what basis is that cooked breakfast above, bacon, sausage, egg, hash brown and toast, not worth £2.95?

Not mine but anyone fancy batter and chips

I think that was advertised and ordered - I guess - as a small meal.

It's small, what's wrong with it?
I Hunted on their website but no sign of a small F&C.

I was at Carlisle two weeks ago @ 10am waiting on a train connection for an hour. For £2.77 I think. I had a sausage and egg muffin and unlimited coffee in the warm by a real fire. That can't be criticised can it? Mind you fellas sitting drinking at that time too.
The unlimited refills could also be taken away so staff told me.

Staff were good, place clean, comfy and tidy what's not to like?

They do sell such a thing. I’ve had it. The fish isn’t always that shape, but when it is there is actually plenty of fish in it.

For the money it is absolutely fine.

Well apparently it can, because Claridges do a far superior sausage and egg muffin.

Met a mate for breakfast yesterday. I'm watching the calories at the moment so had the Momo porridge at £2.09. He had the traditional breakfast on offer at £2.95. Refill tea and coffee and £1.56 each. What's not to like (apart from the plates).

Was in my local spoons (Stroud) yesterday also for a traditional breakfast. I got the same plate as your mate, when I saw it I thought my local spoons had got some cheap load of plates as these couldn't be the corporate plate.... perhaps they are!

As I’ve said they are bigger than they look. But the whole point is they are a smaller version of the full size meal. You get that and a drink. It’s perfectly reasonable.

That looks like 16 oven chips, a small tube of deep-fried batter, a slice of lemon and some green splat.

If you factor in the alcoholic drink, which can be the 660ml bottle of Peroni or Asahi which would cost about £6.50 in most London pubs, then your small fish and chips is costing around £2.87. In my local chippy, £2.87 doesn't get you chips, but it would get you a pot of mushy peas.

I looked at my nearest outlet, I was only vaguely aware that Feltham existed so, no, I didn’t look at their menu.

Which is your nearest outlet? I bet I find small fish and chips?

Offer on, 2-5pm, with alcoholic drink, small fish and chips £7.86 or large £9.02. Allowing £6.50 for the 660ml bottle as above, we're looking at £1.36 or £2.52 for the small or large fish and chips respectively.
