Offer on, 2-5pm, with alcoholic drink, small fish and chips £7.86 or large £9.02. Allowing £6.50 for the 660ml bottle as above, we're looking at £1.36 or £2.52 for the small or large fish and chips respectively.

How much is the bottle of Peroni in Spoons?

How the bloke can post that with a straight face when we’ve seen the reality up the page I do not know.

Trading standards ought to be involved.

The 660ml is about £4.50 I think. But £6.50 is the usual price in London.

My experience of fish and chips in 'spoons is that it arrived looking far more like their poster and not like the pic upthread. I think that poster was very unlucky to get what looks like eel & chips.

The poster shows a FULL SIZE fish and chips.
The photo a few posts back showed a SMALL fish and chips.

Not the same products at all.

I've had the small fish and chips, a few times, and it arrives looking like a smaller version of the full size, not like a battered dildo as shown in the pic upthread.

Enjoyed a very good Eggs Benedict and a mug of tea on Sunday morning in the Leyland Lion in Chorley. Very reasonable at £6.18 and perfectly cooked eggs.

For those who know Sunningdale/Ascot, my local cafe - Fegos, charges £13.75 for the same things.

Fego as in the one also in Cobham?

I imagine they’ll be using significantly better ingredients than spoons.

But you are constantly putting Wetherspoons down. That is all you ever do.

It's just a cracked record endlessly repeating the same message of doom, gloom and despondency.

Yep. My local Wetherspoons is always clean, service very quick, food excellent value for money and the best measure of all.... the toilets are very clean.

It's not where I'd go for a special dinner out but can't fault what they have created imo. The buildings are usually repurposed old places so have character too.

Those afternoon deals are unbeatable, the dishes are taken from the 'pub classics' selection and even the small versions are pretty generous, the Peroni is £4.40 in the Wycombe branch or any 2 premium lagers for £5.90.

Spoons showed a healthy profit margin recently and they're planning to increase the amount of pubs from 800 to 1000 in the near future with work starting on the Marlow pub in early April and opening in September. Bring it on beer

Because the drivel on this thread needs a counter balance alickdoo.

Someone show me a decent meal from spoons - we haven’t had one yet. But great because you can get a tramp measure Peroni for £1.72 - apparently.

Why?
Why can't people like something that you don't like?

There appears to be a few people on PH with the opinion that if they don't like something then no one should like it. Going on from there if they don't like it then everyone that does is stupid, thick, poor taste, cheap, etc etc and then have to somehow put that person down for liking it. I think its a bit petty and childish.

Not at all. If you want cheap beer in a former bingo hall. Good, it’s unbeatable.

But please don’t try and tell us the food is decent, every single picture produced shows it to be awful.

Define a decent meal .

The caveat is you show me somewhere you can ear a similar meal for the same price as spoons .

Nobody is saying it's really good top end food but considering what they charge it's fair .

I think your trying a bit too hard with your constant claims it's utter st .

Well don't look at them then.

How difficult would it be for you to look at a thread knowing you won't like the content and decide to not click on it, not read it and not comment on it. If you struggle with that then I think you need to step away from the keybord and seek help.
