They did you a favour, learn that KFC ain't what it used to be and is utter ste and go elsewhere from now on!

(delete the app too, it's like wearing mucky pants, what would your mother think, if they found you in A&E covered in vomit and spunk, barely able to communicate. Using your sticky finger to unlock your phone, only to see the KFC app, how embarrassing!!)

I’ve never eaten a KFC and am quite happy about that.

I don't know, does anyone remember KFC "magic" ribs discontinued in the UK mid 80's, magic because the sauce was so tasty you didn't mind there being no meat on them at all!

It’s mostly pretty bad now. st service, minging hygiene, poor quality food (kept warm etc) and hugely expensive. Seems to be 18 quid if I get 2 x of anything Eg two bucket for 1 Go to sams chicken it’s similar but at least it’s half the price.

Chicken is the most consumed meat globally. The price of it has near doubled in the past three years too so it's no surprise KFC is getting costlier.

The story of Colonel Sanders is interesting. He was apparently a fried chicken perfectionist and had a few mishaps along the way of perfecting the pressure frying equipment used to cook the chicken. I didn't eat it much at all when I was younger but my missus and kids like it nowadays. I don't know if it's rose-coloured glasses but the KFC experience has lessened somewhat over the years....the Colonel himself thought the same back in the 1980's!

I think you mean the 70s because he died in 1980.

You’ll turn this into a Wetherspoons thread if you’re not careful laugh

Makes me want a KFC.

Although we once went to a KFC in Northern Italy as a distress purchase.

Without exaggerating every single table was 12-18 inches deep with rubbish over the entire table as if three or four meals had been eaten at each one. It was so bizarre I took a photo. What was weirder was that it seemed to be staffed normally and it was early evening not 3am.

Italian pride and work wthic at its finest.

Is there any chain that does quality fried chicken in the UK? Is Popeyes as good as in the US - I see they have more stores but not yet made it to Yorkshire.
Popeyes is awful here. crunch but zero flavour other than heat.

The answer to your question is no. KFC is the best of a poor bunch. I find street food 15 quid fried chicken typically crap as well.

Chik a fil is nice in the states, but doubt we will see them here after their pop ups caused such media driven outrage due to the christian views of the founders.

I occasionally fancy a KFC, then I eat it and wish I hadn't. Doesn't stop me going back from time to time.
this is me. same with all UK fast food, apart from maybe taco bell (which is odd as its probably worst of the lot food standards/'quality' wise). the promise, the instant regret, the recrimination.

This is the big issue with KFC and something they really should be tackling on a corporate level. More often than not you get greasy chicken, cold chips and gravy like water.
Yes, this. My local KFC is dire. Chicken is often oily, limp cold fries etc. The next one a few miles away is much better. Chicken is crispy, fries are usually hot.

Seen this across KFC’s in different areas.

Haven’t seen this level of variability in other chains. Closest equivalent would be independently run fish and chip shops.

I can't remember the last time I enjoyed crispy coated chicken that wasn't greasy and tepid in a KFC. And the fries, omg they're horrible now.

In London, Korean fried chicken places have started to open up which offer a much nicer experience. I don’t think you can beat having chicken fried to order, put straight on your plate. Interesting sauces, the pickles and beer go nicely with it too. Double the price of fast food places however.

Fish Plaice opposite the British Museum is great for Korean chicken. Very much patronised by Koreans
