Plenty of alcohol free beers in decent pubs these days. The Cobra one is fine, and doesn't remove the skin from the inside of your mouth like Kaliber hurl
Kaliber gave me a "hangover" confused

80p a 'shot'? Jeez, where's that, the Dorchester?
Whenever I was behind the bar I used to drink 95% Lemonade with a slice of lime, maybe a dash of lime cordial and a splash of orange juice just to take the fizz away. J20' are good but too sweet, so have with loads of ice and maybe a slug of water. Bloody expensive though....

pint glass, lots of ice, can of ginger beer, bottle of ginger ale & a good splash or two of angustura. you can almost make it last as long as everyone else's pints.

Any j2o topped up with SODA, lightens and gives a bit of fizz

Or you could try some alcohol free cocktails, supplied with drinking instructions. hehe

If you get drunk on agnostura bitters, you deserve a medal, not punishment. You will have suffered enough!

A really nice drink is 50% grapefruit juice, 50% lemonade and a dash of agnostura bitters.

surely that would be 49.9% grapefruit, 49.9% lemonade and 0.2% bitters.

Well, thanks for all the advice everyone!

I can confirm that, after a weekend of being "Des", I tried some new soft drinks!

The muddy waters (coke/orange juice) was much nicer than I thought it would be. Tastes strongly or orange juice (perhaps mine was a little strong) but nice nevertheless. One for the future for sure, to be sure, for sure.

The other I found myself quite liking was soda and lime. Especially at 40p a time! Very sippable, not sickly (in a sugary way) and nice to just drink occasionally.

So, thanks one and all - project "soft drink" was a success!

When lime and soda gets a little too much, blackcurrant and soda is also good. I got into it when a friend used to order it as he had Krones and it was about the only thing in the pub he could drink and enjoy.
