agreed. one of best restaurants in London IMO....Rib of Beef is cracking too!
God , im hungry now!
+1 for The Ivy - pricey but the sort of place where you do get what you pay for.
Belgo: nice food, great beer - awful if you intend trying to hold some sort of conversation with someone.
There's a relatively new place towards the bottom of Bow Street called "Sophie's Steakhouse" which i thought was pretty good as far as quality/value goes - It's a big place which probably does for meat what Belgo does for Moules-Frites. Maybe not particularly romantic, but does have a lively atmosphere and a contemporary ambience.
+1 for Da Mario aswell, if you can get a table (shouldn't be a problem midweek)
Cafe Pacifico in Langley Street has been there since the year dot, but is not what it once was.
Le Deuxieme, on Longacre is not bad - nice upmarket decor and service but the food didn't match the image of the place the last time i went there.
Le Palais Du Jardin which was a fairly reliable, decent but a little overpriced large French bistro has unfortunately gone (don't know if it moved though).
Avoid Maxwells at all costs!

Been to Sarastro a few times http://www.sarastro-restaurant.com/ - bottom of Drury Lane. Decent food and a quite incredible interior, sort of over-the-top faux-opera house decor. And the murals in the bogs are...well...eye-opening. There should definitely be an age restriction on the doors anyway
Lots of little 'boxes' tucked out of the way so pretty good for a couple I'd reckon.
Not 'faux' opera house, the boxes came from real theatres!Lots of little 'boxes' tucked out of the way so pretty good for a couple I'd reckon.
A very good place to eat and be entertained!
Taken a few dates here before....
