Great day at Glenfiddich today.
Tried:
Glenfiddich:
12
14 Rich Oak
15
18
19 Discovery
21
Grants:
Ale cask www.dramperday.wordpress.com
12yo
Sherry cask
Export-strength family reserve
Blended malt.
Highlight of the day though was 15yo straight from the Solera vat. Wow! I wish, wish, wish, they would bottle it at that strength though.
I was driving so just nosing and tasting rather than drinking. Got a storming drive home across the Cabrach too.
Happy days.

err lefty, they do bottle it at that strength? its in the gift shop!
70 quid though
and ale cask is one of the most bizarre drams out on the market today. it tastes like nothing else, and really divides people. kinda funny it is a finish on a standard blend, rather than an ultra-rare limited edition for whisky geeks.

I loved it, a really interesting dram. Never seen it before, never even heard of it! I was amzed how long it had been on the go.Thanks for the introduction Wade, Ludo's a nice bloke. Be sure to give me a shout next time you're up around these parts, I owe you a dram or two! Did you have a chance to do much driving on the roads around Dufftown? They're a joy mid-week, deserted Or were you pished the whole time?!
Anyway, I just registered a new domain name for ma blog:

Bit easier to remember!
Nat, do Amrut do distillery tours and/or tastings? If I went back I'd love to see that, with the whisky maturing in the heat...
I don't know if you've been before, but the Park on the weekend tends to be young and loud, Oberoi more refined, and the Leela Palace the place for the Sunday lunch buffet...
Also bourbon growing in popularity, but used to be subject to phenomenal import duties. Gentleman Jack was £10 a bottle while passing through Dubai, the a supermarket in Bangalore had Smirnoff (made locally under licence) for £1.20 and Jack Daniels fresh from Lynchburg for £65 a bottle...
