Some of you may remember I mentioned that I was working with Robin Laing who is the man behind the SMWS tasting notes.
The album is now available.

Whisky for Breakfast

Going to be in Pitlochry tomorrow, might drop by the Edradour distillery. If I can still walk after the 40+mile cycle.

It's fantastic! Great value at £13 a bottle as well. Tastes very creamy to my (uneducated) palette

Alas, no. Picked that up with a few other choice items from a recent work trip to NY.

Excellent drink, a bit more flavoursome than normal Makers, you can really taste the oak.

bit of water needed in both, but both great whiskies.

I had a bit of that myself on Weds evening. Goes great with a nice warm pudding.

Well, I've added a bottle of Glenlivet Nàdurra and a bottle of Royal Lochnagar to my stash today.
(Not sampled either yet)

Interested to see what you think of the Glenlivet, I was offered a bottle by a mate at a good price but turned it down.

Glenfiddich 21 for me tonight, I still don't really rate it. Certainly not at that price...

I was really tempted with the Nadurra today, as waitrose had it on offer, but opted for the glenlivet 15 and the balvenie double wood - which is actually pretty nice.

Dalmore 15 for me tonight, so smooth and far to easy to drink.

I'm in a minority when it comes to Dalmore. 18 is ok, 12 doesn't do it for me at all. Not tried the 15 though, make any notes?

I bought some whisky on Friday for the first time in, well, ages actually. A small haul:

Kilchoman 2011 spring release
Glendronach 15yo Tawny Port

And one more but I'm buggered if I can remember what it is!

Alas I didn't, but I'm thinking I should.

Rich oak for me tonight, shame there isn't a 21 -25 yo version

Ohhhhhh, it's good!

I had a Kilchoman www.dramperday.comsmile and now on the new Glendronach which is pretty damn good.

The 3rd bottle was a flora and fauna Benrinnes. It might be next.

Cheers!

I haven't opened the Nàdurra yet; it will probably be next weekend now.

Spookily, I was also dinking the Glenfiddich 21 last night, albeit my bottle is from when it was called Gran Reserva.
I was also slightly disappointed with it, but it is growing on me. I can't quite put my finger on what the issue with it is. I find it quite mellow with a lingering finish but somewhat indistinct in taste, (I won't call it bland as that would be unfair).
