I have brough a bottle just this week from a select cask of 17 yr old Arran whisky, its for the Royal Marines 350 year anniversary, seemed a good deal at £69 for a limited run of 320 bottles all numbered individually.
Where did you buy this ?Enjoy and for a good cause too.

I got this a few weeks ago. Perhaps more of a "cheaper" investment one. I know some people don't like that, but my thinking is it helps spread the risk for investing. And the benefit of doing it for whisky is if it doesn't work out then it's good for drinking yourself anyway,
That doesn't seem widely available, or too expensive... How come?F-Stop Junkie said:

Got the phonecall from Ardbeg yesterday so i should be getting my Auriverdes in a couple of days time.
Tick tock...
It's quite funny but I've got my bottle of Ardbeg auriverdes from online retailer before the actual sale on ardbeg site..which was a total joke!!! Trying to buy a bottle of Ardbeg auriverdes was total disappointment from an Ardbeg website....and I was under empression that the entire Northern Hemisphere was trying buy a case of that poor stuff!! In my IMSO the Ardbog was miles better...and they should call actualy should call it the Ardbeg ARRIVEDERCI.Tick tock...
Corry or Uigeadail it's still better value for money and quality!

Vertical Glenlivet tasting last night. 12 / 15 / 16 / 18 / 21 / 25. The winner was the 16. Even at that strength and age the fresh clearac taste was still evident. And of course budget was a factor in our decision.
Had money been no object the 21 and 25 especially were wonderful. We were all left wondering how much better they would have been at 46%+. Have the marketing team missed a trick at Pernod ? Different bottlings for different markets are not that hard - so why no 46% bottling for those markets that desire a fuller experience.
A whisky tasting in York on Race Day, and the England opener, was not great - Joe will be checking the diary a bit better in future. It was funny though watching all the young ''ladies'' wanting to get selfies inside the police van with hand cuffs.
Next month - back to older single cask bottlings (from Speciality Drinks).

So today my bottles have arrived from Germany and they look great – after unwrapping, checking to see all is well, bottle numbers match tube etc I notice a little 50ml sample in the box.
That’s great I think so thoughtful and a really nice touch.
It wont hurt to have a little sniff now will it………………………………
Well you could just put it to your lips for a tiny tiny taste……………………………
oh that’s nice I do like the sherry hit………………
just another small taste……………………………
Oh bugger now I am drinking at my desk and its only just gone midday !

Midday - you don't have a leading part in some TV detective drama ? At least I managed breakfast once to fit alongside a Whitby traditionally smoked kipper - then cycled to work. Although I don't think sherry would go with the kippers as well as the Ardbeg did.
Umm - Glendronach with Xmas pud - I still have a couple in the cupboard if you are passing.
