I really liked both, but the wife wasn't so sure about the Yoichi. She likes 'em peaty.
So any suggestions? Maybe something that'll keep us both happy? Budget would be around the £50 mark.

Any recommendations as to what to try next chaps?
I'm only a recent convert. Last 2 have been Aberlour 10 and Yoichi 10. I really liked both, but the wife wasn't so sure about the Yoichi. She likes 'em peaty.

Aberlour is a typical sherry malt - not peaty at all.I'm only a recent convert. Last 2 have been Aberlour 10 and Yoichi 10. I really liked both, but the wife wasn't so sure about the Yoichi. She likes 'em peaty.

Do you want peaty, or do you want more of the same?
If you want sherry, maybe try a Glendronach 15 Revival.
Something slightly different - Auchentoshan 3 wood
Bourbon barrel & peated - Glenglassaugh Torfa

Maybe something lightly peated as a toe in?

Talisker 10yo is peaty but gentle at the same time if you know what I mean, or Talisker Storm (seems to be on offer at many stores at the moment) is kind of like Talisker light...I'm only a recent convert. Has any one tried Glenfarclas 17. Ive just bought a bottle on Amazon from a supplier in Germany, price £51 + plus £10 postage. Everywhere else the bottle is almost £100
Ive Emailed the seller to ensure they've not put the wrong picture and description up and its the 15.
Seems odd to sell a £100 bottle at £50. I had a £50 voucher from British Gas too, so it only cost me the postage!
Jim Murray gives it a score of 93 which is pretty good and it sounds delicious. I've just bought one from Amazon too to try. The Glenfarclas 25 has become a favourite of mine so if the 17 is similar it'll be great. In the UK it's also not far off the price of the 25 !Ive Emailed the seller to ensure they've not put the wrong picture and description up and its the 15.

Well, received mine today and have to say I don't agree with Jim Murray. He says the 25 year old is a bit strange but I think that's the best balanced whisky I've had. The 17 year old is very nice, there's a Glenfarclas character to it, very clean and gentle almost, but it's got a slightly blunt spice taste to it which is not present in the 25 year old. It's probably closer to the 12 year old than the 25. I'll enjoy it but will stick to the 25 in future.
Really? I have the glenfarclas15 and it's the most hateful rotten potato rotten egg chemical smell / taste to it ive ever smelt on a drink. If the years get better I wonder about the sanity of those bottling them. How anyone can bottle this with a straight face I have no idea..Give me glenglassaugh any day...
