They are restricting the number of users per session and so go to ardbeg.com and wait for the page to load, once you are in you should be ok. Just don't start multiple sessions / tabs.

I cannot believe that the Perpetuum was fetching £280-310 on a whisky auction site yesterday!

Pah - http://www.whisky-onlineauctions.com/ardbeg-celebt...

Remember it was a UK only sale. (seemingly)

Saw that it was available today (forgot - oops!) at 19:28.

Logged into account at Ardbeg.

2 bottles ordered by 19:30.

Took 8 hours plus e-mails and some wrangling with customer services to get 2 Auriverdes.

Timing would seem to be key...

My GF has just come back home and ordered 2 bottles within about 30 seconds! Our order numbers are about 700 apart from one another and, judging by the responses on FB, I seemed to be one of the first ones who had been successful! Did the email they sent out say something along the lines of 12,000 bottles for the Committee release? So all in all, around 20,000 bottles?

i got it all the way to basket checkout on 2 bottles when i changed my mind - however yes they are still available and the site is coping for now. I think there was a huge rush in the morning as people were clearly assuming it would sell out!

Got a bottle, first try too so maybe demand has calmed down a bit now.

Anyway, back to drinking whisky.

I had some Nikka Coffey Malt (Yellow Label) over the weekend and I had forgotten how good it tastes. Very moccha/chocolatety, honey and just very smooth. I also managed to grab another bottle of the 200 year Laphroaig 15yo and about a third of that disappeared. Very nice but the 18yo is a bit nicer and has more of the normal Laphroaig taste profile. The 15 seemed to have less smoke and seaweed.

I also managed to do a little tipsy ordering online from abbey whisky. A 13yo bottling of theirs called Anon which must have sounded intersting in my somewhat 'merry' state.

So much for not buying more whisky hehe

Unsure if anyone has seen, or has any interest in this : http://telegraphevents.co.uk/the-telegraph-whisky-...

I discovered it via an email from the Whiskyshop. Apparently was held last yearas well. 65 whiskies is quite a wide range.

As info

On this tonight.

Lovely caramel coffee. It's nearly gone though, time to say goodbye.

Oh where, where God damn you!

I was drinking Noah Mills on the election night. Very nice but it goes down far too easily for something with 57%!

Pissing me off massively. I have been trying since the bottle appeared on the web site at 9.55. It went live at 10am and I have been trying to get 2 bottles. An absolute shambles as it is every year.
If it helps it will go on sale here on Friday. There will be no problem getting them either - they still have 9 bottles of the Aurivedes available as they get so many.

I'll raise a drink for you guys in sympathy... wink

Last time I post anything like this again! First time the site has ever gone down when I've used it, and then was out of office in the afternoon so by the time it came up the Glendronach Granduer 31yo I was aiming at was gone, mad

So you can all laugh at me now, biggrin

Tried the Mackmyra Iskristall a few nights ago. Nicely balanced for it's age, a bit peppery with some sherry coming though, although it's certainly not a big sherry bomb, quite a long finish. My friends who aren't big whisky drinkers enjoyed it.

I've cast an eye over that several times. Its getting harder and harder to resist, especially now you've said that.

Conundrum, over sized stash, what do I do?

P/S Has anyone tried Whistlepig?

i've had it for years, tbh it definitely felt past it's best and not as potent as it once was, but still v nice. I've got a bourbon-shaped hole in the collection now. Possible Rock Hill Farms...
