Well, after seven years on the whisky train at WGS, its time for a change. I'm going to hand over the whiskies and bourbons I manage on Friday, and move to the global innovation team at Pepsi. I kind of feel like I'm leaving the good life to join corporate America, but I think it'll be exciting.
For anyone thinking about working in the booze industry: do it. It has the best people and amazing experiences (like bumping into David Stewart of Balvenie and him asking you your opinion on a 41 year old liquid sample. It was delicious.)
FYI They are looking for someone to manage Balvenie and Monkey Shoulder in the UK at the moment, so if you want a crack at that, get on it. And my job in New York will be open as of Monday

Any idea on the price for Dark Cove? Assume there will be a committee release and Ardbeg Day release?
not sure, but there's rumour of it joining their core range so i can't imagine it will be north of £70. I'll be on public transport on my phone at that time so i might be able to get through to buying one; might not.

I'm pretty sure that JM had the differences between the bottlings as marginal and I didn't find them any different apart from the CR was a bit stronger, but I like that.
And for Laphroaig lovers. Lore has just been released. A NAS that will be produced in limited batches per year at £75 a pop. Quite steep but I have decided to get a couple as Laph does not usually last long in my house.

Ah, got it Sir - enjoy!
I had some issues but they related to the maintenance that was happening to the website yesterday - long story short, had to reset password but the MoetHennessey weblink didn't recognise it. Once everyone in the world (roughly) realised there was no link to buy the bottles, they all naffed off which allowed me to change my password and then the weblink worked to allow me to process the order.
As said above, much better than pressing F5 for hours on end
