Hmm, Brabantia pans now £113. I'd still buy them at that price.

Note that the handles on the ones I received were not as shown on the picture. They have a single, "normal" metal handle.

SE - why will the dishwaher kill them? They're stainless steel, what harm can they suffer?

Go for 18/10 Stainless Steel with a bonded aluminium base. Even heat and nice looking.

Mayer or Stellar for me, but others have their favourites.

My Mayers are 12 years old, been used almost every day and are looking like they'll out live me.
+1 Stellar.

it's the salt and rinse agent which breaks down the coatings - have you noticed how dry they get to the touch?

also, you're more likely to scratch the coatings when you load and unload them

knives are a different story - they are made from different steel and the heat kills them off

No rust problems yet in spite of numerous dishwasher cycles.
eek

you'll kill them like that!!
Err, why is sticking a saucepan through a dishwasher a problem?

I assume Le Creuset 3-ply pans are pretty much the same as any other and they are dishwasher proof and come with a lifetime guarantee.

10 year. I'll have a 10 year period of not washing up thanks very much. Strange that non-stick, which I would have thought would be more delicate has a lifetime guarantee.

Anolon Professional - don't bother with anything else otherwise you'll be buying a set of pans twice
+1
+ 1 and again and again....

You will not believe how easy and even these are to cook with. Great and very durable just dont stick 'em in the dishwasher!

And when we popped into John Lewis last week in High Wycombe (think it was last week) they had sets on a special purchase/undersold deal at about £100 for a set of 3 pans and small fryer + milk jug; ie 5 pices for £100! Great VFM!

Good luck.
